Sooo seems the demo of the upcoming action, grindhouse-ish, game is available to all.
I'm not sure just how long its been around, probably a while but even still during my routine check through the PS-store i stumbled upon this unexpected lil feature.

Like everything on the PSN these days, it took around 30 minutes download/install annd then i was finally able to delve my hands into 70s style wetwork.

Impressions....well from what the demo gives its fairly decent, I imagine it'll be getting alot of 7's or 3 stars concerning giantbomb's rating style.
It seems to have alot in common with Stranglehold with its OTT slow-mo gunplay but also has elements from The Club with its scoring with how you kill your enemies, any generic hack n slash with its swordplay and Prince of Persia with Rubi's maneuverability.

Its all meshed fairly well together though it all seems a little stiff concerning the wall running and open-legged slidin. Sometimes it'll also be a little hard to grasp on just wtf is going on midst the gameplay with Rubi doing all sorts of gymnist feats.
Its not helped much by the grain filter either, which sure is to add to the 70s underground atmosphere but more often just seems to get in the way for me.
Then again concerning its fairly dated graphics I suppose the grain-filter is acting as a blessing for the developers.

Not trying to say this is hands down-no doubt-absolutly-will indefinatley....be a horribley average game that'll give you that icky taste of regret at purchasing at full price...but from what I can muster up, its probably worth a rental for me at least.

Hay it still has some killer highlights though, mostly revolving around the soundtrack which has some epicly catchy 70s tunes that I wouldn't put it past Quentin Tarintino to have handpicked. Eliza Dushku stars at the lovely lass Rubi too, to which unfortunatly I didn't get much oppurtunity to hear during the demo but I'm sure she'll have plenty of dialogue in the full game.
Still, when you Eliza Dushku staring in your game, its no million quid question as to why you needed to have as much of Dushku in your demo as possible!

Voice actors are rarely as sexy as this lass xD. ((would of captioned pic but I'm having a fukin battle in trying to work around this ''improved'' image design..))

I remember seeing a spot for Wet where someone met Eliza Dushku (I think it was at Comic Con). They were reporting for maybe 1up? Anyway, they seen her and went over and said "Hello There! And who might you be?" She goes..."Um... I'm Eliza Dushku." As if we were all supposed to know who she was or something.

Ever since then I thought she was an idiot.

That's not really a selling point for me, getting the voice of someone attractive looking. Unless she was doing FMVs or something. PS, this game needs FMVs.

Sure, that could be a sign of a big ego. But she's no idiot from what I could tell in interviews/Twitter.

Anywhoo thats fair enough, I mean i don't know much about her as an actual person only her career like annnd I'm a fan of her acting talent and the stuff she stars in i usually enjoy too....minus Wet though it seems =/

@Abyssfull: No, that's not what I meant. And I trust that Joss would not enjoy working with an idiot.

I actually thought the demo was pretty decent, it was a bit clunky to control like you said but generally held my attention well. Although like you I'm not sure it would be a full price purchase maybe when its in the bargin bin, or a borrow/rental jobbie.

Is this thread about Wet?  You didn't mention the title of the game in your thread.  Anyway, sometimes good voice talent can add layers to poorly scripted characters, but I've yet to see them redeem mediocre game play or questionable controls.  I haven't played the demo yet, but I always considered Wet to be a second tier title.  Really, when you look at a similar styled game, Bayonetta, with all it's flash and flair, in my mind there is no comparison.  But, that doesn't mean that Wet can't find its niche just as 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand did.

As for Eliza, I never watched The Dollhouse and only dabbled in Tru Calling.  I did catch Bring it On again the other night, and she was fun in that little cheer-flick.  See, that's where she should have lent her voice talent...Namco's We Cheer.

@sjhujh:
Yah I will admit for a demo it did give alot of good content, enough for most to already set their first impression on wether its worth there cash and I mean i won't deny that I did get a cheap thrill from that on-rails shooter section.
Shame about the quick-time events though...a game witha character like Rubi who can maneuver  around like shes covered in grease, I would of hoped you'd be able to manually jump across the vehicles n such.

@Abyssfull: As someone that hasn't followed WET at all, it was pretty freaking confusing. A long time ago I heard that the game looked terrible, and so I pretty much stopped reading anything about it. I had no clue that Eliza Dushku starred in it. I've got it all straight now though.

@Abyssfull: yeah that definately rings true, they o bill her as the acrobatic killing machine but then they confine that acrobatic flair to sections and methods of their choice. I suppose its too late fior them to do anything about it though.

Also did anyone else have  a serious flash back to Killer 7 when playing that blood lust section. It was fun, but it does highlight the clunkyness in control more than the bit before it. It almost felt like i should have been chaining together all these amazing kills but it just kept sort of starting and stopping.

liza Dushku just annoys me. I really don't know why. Maybe it's because I can't wrap my head around how the fuck did she ever get to be a successful actress when she has the acting abilities of a porn star...Strike That...I've seen porn stars with better acting abilities then her.

Well of course you'd agree, to me your username implies that you've watched so much porno that you were actually able to come across a totally unquestionablly undeniably amazing acting performance froma porn-star.
