Eternal Sonata, The Walking Dead Season 1,or Mass Effect Trilogy

I'm only gonna get one for Christmas so which one do you think I should choose?

@fuzzypumpkin: This is pretty tough. I'm gonna rule out Eternal Sonata (if you haven't played the demo I suggest you do. I wasn't a big fan based on the demo alone so that should help your decision.)

The Walking Dead Season 1 is kind of broken on disc from what I've heard. If you're not getting it on Steam you're taking a big risk. Nevertheless it has an amazing story and is definitely worthwhile for that; don't expect much gameplay from it, however.

The Mass Effect trilogy is strong overall -- it has an amazing story (peaks at ME2 for some, arguably, so your mileage will vary with 3 although I personally loved it) and I really enjoyed the gameplay.

Mass Effect is your safe bet. The Walking Dead would be memorable if it doesn't break for you. Eternal Sonata if and only if you played the demo and think it's really amazing for some reason.

Mass Effect Trilogy. I played the other two you listed and just wasn't impressed, but if you haven't played any Mass Effect yet then you're in for a treat.

Mass Effect Trilogy has some of the best writing in a video game series and it's really fun to see your choices carry over.

This is easy. The Mass Effect trilogy.

I've been pretty hard on Mass Effect 3, but it's hardly a bad game and a lot of people like it. The first two are fantastic.

Mass Effect will probably last you the longest, but personally I think the series as a whole is kind of terrible so I can't recommend it.

The Walking Dead is really good though. It most likely won't take you more than 12 hours to beat, but it will probably leave a lasting impression on you.

I stopped liking ME after 1 and didn't think that was incredibly amazing either. Not too interested in Walking Dead either. So Eternal Sonata! Haven't played it, but it's higher on my "giveashit" list than the other two!

I had a feeling Mass Effect would be the choice for most. I just don't know if asking for the trilogy is the smart thing to do or if I should just ask for all three because it's actually a good bit cheaper than buying the trilogy collection (like 40 dollars to 60 dollars). Is there any benefit from owning the collection? DLC included? Technical issues fixed?

@fuzzypumpkin: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Mass_Effect_Trilogy should help you determine whether or not it's worth it depending on platform, since it lists what each platform's trilogy has as a bonus. It looks like PS3 does have a lot of extra DLC on it.

I don't think any have the ME3 DLC, however.

You listed some of my favourite games this generation! From a value and gameplay stand point Mass Effect Trilogy wins. The Walking dead is such a good story, but is basically an interactive cutscene.
