What's your favorite type of game?
Mine's the platformer, specially that which is more of a ride than, well, hopping like in Mario or even Banjo.
I guess I like it when a world is truly created and there's this sense of story. Think Kameo or Conker. And yes, while I know for fact Kameo doesn't have much of a story, they do recreate the feel of a war quite nicely. You feel like you're on a quest. I guess, to put it simply, platforming adventures.
Then comes the jrpg.....
It's not to say that my favorite game is from the genre though.
When it comes to platformers though, it's actually a decent generation. Granted, the genre has sort of been spread out, but there's Mario, Banjo, Ratchet, Kameo, Mirror's Edge, LBP, 2 Sonics (what, I like them!) and PoP. Not too bad. And you can always count on Rare to have one coming up soon.
Favorite Type of Game?
Action Adventure. Like Zelda, Metroid, Okami, Resident Evil, God of War, Dead Rising, Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider
RPG's or RPG-like. Like action games that allow me to upgrade my character's stats and stuff. I love seeing numbers go up :)

I'm split. 90% of my games are either shooters (first & third) or RPGs. About 10% of them are strategy, platformers or fighting games.

RPG's, preferably western RPG's, but i will never play a WRPG on a console. JRPG's are fine on console's however.
I also love old school action games/platformers.
