Favourite Music (Moment) from a Game?

There has probably been a lot of topics here asking what everyone's favourite song from a game is, however I'd just like to ask it in a slightly different manner. I thought of this while playing through Splinter Cell: Conviction again, and realising at the end when DJ Shadow's Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt plays, makes my heart really pump and I never get like that with games nowadays.

It's probably not my favourite of all time, I'll need to have a think about that, and return, but for now what is yours?

When Zia's Theme in Bastion plays for the first time.

That part in Halo: ODST after you finish the mission as Dutch where you blow up the ONI base. As the Rookie, you are standing there, looking out at the smoldering shell of the titanic construction halfway silhouetted by the pink skies behind it, as "Bits and Pieces" from the soundtrack plays. Amazing.

That part in Splinter Cell is pretty excellent. Two others that come to mind are both from Red Dead Redemption. When you're riding into Mexico and "Far Away" starts playing ... absolutely perfect. There's a similar moment in Undead Nightmare when you're on your way to the final mission and the song "Bad Voodoo" starts playing, which fits that sequence wonderfully.

The song that plays when the new Normandy is revealed in Mass Effect 2. That whole scene gave me chills.

Another is in Gears 3...

Jumping from a helicopter and murdering everyone in a Penthouse while listening to Power from Kanye West. 
Listening to "You're the Best Around" in a Wrestling Match. 
Listening to "Holding out for a hero" while you're deciding if you're going to kill the bad guy or save your friends.  
All of them are from SR: The Third. 
 
Also, when "Hallelujah" plays when you finish a stage in Catherine... It's just bloody amazing.

@ssj4raditz: I have not played Bastion, although I just searched for the song and it is very good!

@Harkat: I remember that part vaguely in ODST, I am actually planning to go back and play it with a friend soon, so I will look out for it! :)

@Equal_Opportunity_Destroyer497: Yes, these are both fantastic. I remember feeling really immersed in the world when they played.

Probably Red Dead for me as well with Far Away.

That or Persona 4 with The Genesis during the final bossfight.

Entering Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, where Far Away starts playing, seems like the only answer here.

Bloody masterful.

@Baillie: I would highly suggest trying out Bastion when you get the chance. The entire soundtrack is great (hell, the whole game is), but hearing/seeing that song in context was just awesome.

The music that plays when you are running and gunning across the rooftops in Kowloon in COD Black Ops is also fantastic and extremely fitting with the scene. Here's the track:

Reminds me a lot of The Prodigy's Voodoo People.

When 'Mad World' plays as Dom sacrifices himself. That sequence was the closet I've ever come to getting emotional over a Video game.

Yukiko's dungeon in Persona 4 comes to mind. As soon as 'Castle' starts playing, it always gets to me. Amazing soundtrack overall.

Also, the theme that plays whenever you view any of the endings in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I always liked the short bit of music that plays when you save one of the little sisters in Bioshock.

I still love when the Halo theme is playing as you're driving the Warthog around the exploding Halo ring- it's pretty rad.

Though the final fight with Gary in Bully was pretty great too.

The music that plays at the end of Beyond Good and Evil.

SNAKE EATERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

There are so many that I have, but for some reason the one that immediately came to my mind was the scene from FFVIII where "Eyes on Me" plays as Squall and Rinoa float around in zero gravity. I greatly, greatly dislike that game, but I still think that game did some amazing things (and ultimately squandered them).

I'll also mention the scene in Chrono Cross when "Magical Dreamers ~ The Wind, Stars and Waves~" plays.

This is easily the greatest musical moment in gaming for me. Rez HD area 5! This really was a mind killer.

Never felt more badass then the moment you inject the Ultra Accelerator in Breakdown (6:30-8:30)...

Saints row 3 power plays while you take over the apartment

This.

• The planetary screen for the Normandy in Mass Effect and ME2 (so much Tangerine Dream goodness)
• The sunken ship level in Mario 64
• Donkey Kong Underwater Level
• Almost all of 'The Dig'
• Roaming music in Oblivion and Skyrim

This song has been stuck in my head for 12 years and counting. Walking around Balamb Garden, playing Triple Triad, trying to buy a hot dog but always being late . . . ah the memories.

pretty much anything in Nier. My favorite parts are probably when Song of the Ancients plays over the boss battles in the shadowlord's castle, as well as the ending of the 2nd Aerie boss...

Boom. Done.
