Super stoked about the return of Film& 40s... What other films do you guys wanna see the crew talk over? I know I want Jeff to talk over The Substitute. Maybe Home Improvement?
Film & 40s: Commando waiting room
Tango & Cash is definitely something you could, and indeed should, drink to if you plan on discussing any of it
If I could choose only one movie to sum up action movies from the 80's then Commando would be it. I genuinely think this is an amazing movie, and probably my favourite (not necessarily best) Arnie film. For anyone who hasn't yet seen John Wick I think that is the modern day take on Commando and is also a fantastic film with great style.
Oddly fitting for 2 who just went through the cluster f*** that is Metal Gear Solid V the Phantom Pain...
Demolition man....
Hope that it's for the next time. Hopefully now with Metal Gear Scanlon wrapped up for the foreseeable future, Film and 40s podcast can come out more often.
Dammit, Dan and Drew just drank my milkshake, my dumb Schwarzenegger podcast just recorded its Commando episode but it won't go online for three weeks.
*shakes fist*
Excited to listen though.
As others have said, Tango & Cash and The Substitute are high on my list.
If anyone's interested I did a written Rifftracks/Film & Forties type thing for Commando a few years ago here -
@dudeglove: Thank you for showing me The Substitute quicklook you beautiful, beautiful man.
Commando is the best but I don't want to hear other people talk over it. It should be viewed in reverent silence.
I'm looking forward to this one, should be really good.
As for other films, I think "Falling Down" would be a great film to have on. I remember watching that in geography class whilst in secondary school - I have no idea why we were watching it but I like to think that my education benifited from it!
Demolition man....
OH MAN. YEEEES!
