I mean it doesn't look like a Facebook game to me, they also don't normally give facebook games full spreads in german magazines.

So far only rumors on Simcity 5. Seeing as how there's no official confirmation, I'll regard this thread as rumor, at best. Call back when we actually know for sure.

You're sure those are screenshots? They look kinda like concept art or something similar to me, also I didn't even know that SimCity 5 existed?

Also why have they blurred out the article text in that picture? Something about this seems fishy to me, I think that might be a different game and he just posted those to get hits on the site.

So hope it's not a Facebook game and a real deep sequel... A proper new Sim City would be awesome..

@Village_Guy: For what it's worth they come from a reliable fansite based in germany. And i think they're a blend of concept art and screenshots. (Picture #2 is clearly a concept, while #3 looks more like a screenshot to me). They're in the process of translating the article into English.

This is brilliant news. But I'm also very worried for where they might take the franchise..

The text is in German. They probably didn´t want to scare people. Seems possible that this is finally a real thing. There have been rumors all over the (German) internet for the past couple of days.

Dont tease me like that.

I would love to see if this is actually confirmed...how long has it been since a SimCity game? A billion years or so?

The blurbs with the photos don't say much, and the actual article is blurred out. Too bad. I might have been able to pick up something from it. Ah, well. Back to procrastinating at my job.

Wow. If the screenshots are real, this game actually looks pretty good! Who knows if they will drastically overhaul the mechanics though...

Unless I spot screencaps of giant mecha robots tearing down skyscrapers with it's eye laser I'm going to remain sceptical. Still, another SimCity would be nice after the rather disappointing SC4.

Hopefully it's a return to more the style of 2 and 3.

Sim City 4 introduced too many pointless features that were unnecessary and not any fun. I guess some people would claim it had more depth, but it really just wasn't as enjoyable as the older ones.

Missed opportunity. It should have been called "The SimCity".

I'd love me a new Sim City, about time. But part of me suspects it'll be some facebook game again.

how about a sim city with multiplayer. where you can build your city, and program in crimes, then make a super hero, and you can take your super hero into other peoples cities online, and solve crimes. i think that would be awesome.

I hope traffic is handled well with good tips. That is the bane of anything I have built in SimCity 4. I’ll scrap my city and start over and over. Hehe.

I have a 0% interest in this game. Almost like a home mortgage I'll default on and cause the catastrophic failure of the world economy.
