Hi all

I have just noticed that there is a Microsoft Fligher Simulator gold edition out for sale and wandered if anybody knew whether its playable with the Xbox 360 pad?

I have the wired pad and it works fine with other PC games but I am curious to know how well it works with the Flight Simulator games?

Thanks

I'd say it wouldn't work too well, there are way too many functions to be able to simply map onto a controller. Most flight simmers use a joystick and a throttle controller and map everything else on the keyboard. Even the default keyboard and mouse as a joystick setting would be easier to use.

@Garfield360UK:
I've given it a shot. FSX has built in 360 pad controls, which are pretty well laid out. You'll still want to keep your keyboard and mouse handy for the more complicated cockpit stuff, but the majority of the flight mechanics can be controlled just fine with the 360 pad. (throttle, flaps, gear, etc).
