Come on, we've all done this before: name a character something immature, like Ass or Shit, so every character in the world would end up saying things like, "Hey, ass!" or, "Oh, shit!" So I thought I'd start a thread dedicated specifically to all the dumb names you've given characters in video games. However, one suggestion: BE CREATIVE. I don't think we all want to see a thread full of Fucks and Assholes. Let me start things off and set the mood: in Pokemon Red, I decided that I'd name my rival Sexy. Why? This 100% unaltered, real pic:
Funny names you give characters in games. (OLD)

I like to name all my animal characters Paul that way when I see it above them I here Adam West saying " a___ named Paul that's just silly Paul is a human's name, who names their _____Paul"
Too tired to be creative, I can't think of anything good...
I suppose there's always the Metapod named Penis, and the Mew named Optimus/Prime (Prime used Transform! Prime used Rollout!). But no player-characters that I can imagine.
If I can name characters in my party I'll name them people after I know. It's pretty funny, "Blitz was bitten by a snake and died". If I can only name the main protagonist then I'll go with my other name Ricardo Machete. It's always funny when people call him Ricardo-san or Machete-kun in Persona 4.
My old WoW characters were called Manko, which is basically Japanese for "C*#t" and a Druid called Almeja, which is portugese for clam and slang for pussy. Had a Priest called Quenga but I can't remember what that was, something rude.
Also had Hunters called Dave and Spaggidge. Had Gnomes called Littlebuggar and Littlefecker as well. Err Shamen called Minjeeta, i think thats it...
Basically tried to get the worst names I could within Blizz's profanity system.
Probably my finest achievement was making a guild and arena Group called "coming in your face"
Other than that my dog characters in Dragon Age and Torchlight are called Turd. Non-online games i'm not arsed with, as noone sees them anyway.
By default, I'll generally try to name my animal pets in games with the suffix of "christ."
"Puppychrist," "Rhinochrist," "Ponychrist..."
I have no idea why, but it makes their names way more amusing to me.
Thought of another one whilst watching South Park: name your character Snarf Snarf and pretend you're in Thundercats :P.
I played through Final Fantasy 7 giving everyone average names. Which is just humourous to me, Especially when you get lines like "The planet is dyin' Gary!" Which ultimately became my favorite line in the entire game.
The only recent thing I know of is naming my Dog in Da:O "Steppenwoof"
My brother and I played through Final Fantasy 7 together when we first got it as teenagers. When it came time to name Cid, he named him Captain, so we wound up with a few random times when he'd be referred to as "Captain Captain." Ahhh, dumb teenage humor.
Anyways, I've got a tradition of naming one Smackdown vs. Raw character in each game Balls Malone. I also tend to give characters fake stupid rap names whenever possible. Right now, my current playthrough of Final Fantasy Tactics has its main character as "Thuggy D," Dragon Age's character is "Mix Master Melvin" (or something to that effect - might be MC Melvin), and another character in Smackdown vs. Raw is named Juicy Juice. His finishing move? The Hawaiian punch. Ba dum dum dum.

I have no idea why, but it makes their names way more amusing to me. "I do exactly the same, but with rude words, like Pikadick, or Assachu and follow through with all of them. I am puerile like that. For human characters, I just go historical, like Hitler, he was my nemesis in Pokemon once. I is stupid, but it does amuse at the time.
My very favorite was when I was just coming into good gaming, I remember playing Final Fantasy II (IV)
And naming the twin wizards "Fuck" & "You" (I was about 10)
Then for the rest of the game (that their in) The text would constantly be saying things like
"Fuck, You come on hurry up"
"You, Fuck quick use your magic"
I loved that game....
" @AnimZero said:I did something similar in my recent playthrough of Pokemon Platinum. I named my Pokemon all terrible stuff. My Piplup was originally named "FUUUUCK!" before eventually turning into "a penguin?" and it was great." By default, I'll generally try to name my animal pets in games with the suffix of "christ." "Puppychrist," "Rhinochrist," "Ponychrist..." I have no idea why, but it makes their names way more amusing to me. "Go, a penguin?!"
Ha-ha, that made me laugh. Well done and so true." I think i named Tifa ''Tits4Brains'' during one playthrough. "
I always give my characters stripper names like Strawberry, Cinnamon, Bambi, Huneydew, Chastity, Fillopia, Kitten, Cherri, Bunni, Candi, and Ambrosia.
my rocker in lego rockband is called Stumpwound.
I used to name characters in games when I was a boy after highschool crushes..it was pretty lame.
ahhh secret of mana.
Fucker, Whore, Bitch and You cockmonger are my staples in games where I don't care about my character. Especially amusing in Mario Tennis Advance, were characters refer to you by name constantly. "Nice one, Bitch!"
Also, after the Endurance Run I have started to name my characters with variations of Charlie Tunoku. The last one I remember is Charlotte Tuna from Bladestorm.
when I played persona 3 after persona 4 I called everyone their persona 4 equal.
like junpei I called yoske
Steve usally comes into my head when naming characters. I named my characters in FF8, my first name then gave a number after it, this is not advisable for such a game, can get slightly confusing in parts. Last but not least my dog in dragon age is called Superdog20, other than those I tend to leave them as their default name so I dont get personally attached..........
AssCancer is usually one of my first character names in games I don't take too seriously. Charles Bronson is always fun, as well.
I don't go all out with adventuras names, I called the dog in DA:O Legnum, which is the make of my car,
I used to use the name spdster, in the need for speed games, Yeah, kinda lame, I think i used maguffin once, but for the life of me i cant remember the refrence,
Mc'Keyver cause Mc'guyver was taken, Ahh, Pulp sport.
I name all my male RPG characters Mark Wahlberg, unless I don't have room for the name, then I just name them Mark and just pretend their last name is Wahlberg.
