We've all had it during long gaming stretches. Your arse starts to get sore, it itches, it becomes very uncomfortable to sit.. how do YOU deal with it?

#2 Posted by Yummylee (22653 posts) -

Don't think that's ever happened to me, least not often enough for me to remember the last time it did. My legs can get really numb, though. And when that happens I'll just do some light stretching.

I've got buttocks of steel.

#4 Posted by Cloudenvy (5891 posts) -

I have no clue what you're talking about.

#5 Posted by believer258 (12297 posts) -

I don't experience it often on account of not playing games for too long very often.

#6 Posted by Vinny_Says (5729 posts) -

Get up and walk for 10 minutes every hour to help with circulation. Same thing they do in an office workplace.

#7 Posted by Gladiator_Games (447 posts) -

@Vinny_Says: Man.. wish I worked in that office..

I thought this topic was going to be about sex. I am pleased and disappointed.

#9 Posted by Maginnovision (491 posts) -

I can say honestly that has never happened to me. I get up fairly often and don't usually play for long at any one time though.

Second time today this has happened to me. I'm liking this trend of dirty topic titles, though.

I have a comfy chair. My ass has never complained.

I rarely ever get it since I'm constantly getting up to piss like a racehorse.

#12 Posted by AndrewB (7692 posts) -

Sit on an exercise ball, which keeps you constantly moving anyway.

#13 Posted by Orbitz89 (229 posts) -

I can honestly say I have never had that problem. Maybe you're sitting too long?

Yea, this.

#15 Posted by Superkenon (1516 posts) -

I can't stand being in the same position for very long, so I tend to shift around, or get up and walk around a lot.

I've had my legs go numb at work, though. Maybe I should follow Will Smith's lead and try to get me a standing desk.

#16 Posted by mscupcakes (612 posts) -

I put a pillow on my chair so I'm comfy 100% of the time!

#17 Posted by TaliciaDragonsong (8609 posts) -

If you get a sore butt from gaming too long you are obviously a light weight.
I've had a lot of times where I had serious pains in my arm and fingers from frantic MMO/MOBA/FPS playing however, but I kind of have a medical condition that causes those so I'm not 100% sure its solely to blame on the gaming.

#18 Posted by Gladiator_Games (447 posts) -

Im liking the exercise ball idea. Or maybe my chair is just too uncomfortable. I should get a big plushy char for my compy

#19 Posted by Fattony12000 (7629 posts) -

That's deep vein thrombosis.

#20 Posted by Hizang (8532 posts) -

I've had to deal with this in the past month, pillows work wonders.

Swamp ass is another colloquial term for it.

#22 Posted by mitsuko_souma (134 posts) -

what is this i don't even

#23 Posted by Dragon_Fire (369 posts) -

I haven't had to deal with this ever, Just have a comfortable couch or chain and you are set, if you still aren't then just stretch.

#24 Posted by Hunter5024 (6064 posts) -

I play games in like 6 hour chunks at a time so this has been a problem for me in the past but I got in the habit of standing up every 30 minutes to an hour in order to pet my dog (not a euphemism). That way my ass and eyes get a couple minute break every once in a while.

#25 Posted by Laiv162560asse (486 posts) -

Just develop arse calluses. You know how guitarists develop finger pads? Just get a big one of those on each bumcheek. Mine are each like an old dog's paw, except larger, hairier and a bit softer.

#26 Posted by RVonE (4709 posts) -

I can't say that I've ever experienced what you're saying in the past twenty-five years. Maybe some minor stiffness in the neck and back area but a quick 2K run usually fixes that.

#27 Posted by dudeglove (8476 posts) -

You should probably see a doctor. Or wash more. Basic hygiene is not the enemy.

#28 Posted by CaLe (4072 posts) -

I've never had a problem with my ass. I can sit forever and he will just take it.

#29 Posted by Bell_End (1203 posts) -

i only get this if i spend to long on the toilet.

i spent to long playing Game Dev Story on the shitter t'other day and when i got up my leg were numb and i fell over. lucky i'd wiped or it would of been i right mess

#30 Posted by Chop (1999 posts) -

Ass. Ass. It's ass.

Arse just sounds stupid and I hate it.

#31 Posted by face15 (1306 posts) -

I sit all day everyday and I've never had this problem.

#32 Posted by Picard (257 posts) -

Sounds like you have hemorrhoids.

My chair isn't made out of cinder-blocks, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

#35 Posted by Xymox (2128 posts) -

Never had a problem with it. Might be because I switch between a ton of unergonomic positions too often to notice any fatigue.

#36 Posted by Bulby33 (620 posts) -

If I sit for more than two hours then yeah, my ass sometimes hurts. I usually just stop playing at that point.

#37 Posted by Grand (52 posts) -

You must get the Gamers Sacred Holy Relic - THE LAZ-E BOY RECLINER!

#38 Posted by MikkaQ (10346 posts) -

Yeah I fucking hate my office chair. It's cheap but it's the worst. Never skimp on those, that's my new policy for life.

But whatever I ultimately just stand up and walk around a bit, head to the basement and grab a water bottle or something.

Although now I find myself considering getting a standing desk. It seems like it'd be great for work but terrible for PC games.
