Games inspired by Firefly

So I am watching Firefly for the first time and loving it. But its making me want to play a good story based space-western. What games do you guys suggest? I have played the wings of liberty campaign, borderlands 2, and mass effect 1 + 2. Starcraft is really the game that I think exhibits the firefly tone best. What do you guys suggest. I am playing on PC if that helps.

Well, Starhawk had space cowboys but it was on PS3. Umm... well, Rage had a western sort of setting with futuristic stuff in there, but not much space business.

Man, I'm honestly stumped and thought this setting was already overdone. Guess its not!

Bulletstorm is basically rated R Firefly with an actual villain.

Well, you might want to go ahead and play Mass Effect 3, if you haven't already. Mabye keep an eye out for the new edition of Wasteland too ? And I think Fallout 3 catches some of the atmosphere

While tone/setting/story wise it doesn't really have much to do with it, Halo 3: ODST is somewhat of a Firefly reunion in terms of voice cast (Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk voice three of the main characters).

If you want to fly around in a cargo ship, dumping and trading goods from one end of the system to the next, how about Freelancer?

Pretty sure there's a Firefly Transport ship mod for it, too.

Firefly was my gateway drug into all of the Joss Whedon shows, but Firefly still remains the best and unfortunately shortest of his shows.

FTL doesn't really fit your criteria but thought it was a cool space game. Starhawk had cool western music but the story was pretty lackluster. In my opinion anyways. Also Firefly is so great. If you haven't seen Dollhouse yet, check it out.

Freelancer? Privateer? The latter is on GOG, but there's also a free version in a fan remake called Gemini Gold. Neither are really "space westerns," but the games' respective frontiers are often harsh and lonely.

Weird, I just started listening to the Firefly soundtrack yesterday on a whim and I was searching for more music like it.

Their needs to be more space pirate & smuggler games.

Personally I'm still waiting for my Ice Pirates inspired game. Been a long wait.

This comes to mind.
