Games that DESERVE remakes now or later!

You know, those games that are so fucking awesome that they DESERVE a sequal/remake but never did. This is the topic which we honer these fallen games. Here goes with my personal ones. Then the fan ones later.

1st off, MEDIEVIL!!!

This two game series DID have a remake for the PSP. but no one even noticed it because... for the obvious reasons that it was on the PSP. However, this game DESERVES a remake/sequel for the fact that it is just such a classic type of game. I have it for PS1 and it is still just as playable and awesome as ever, the writing is just witty/funny/Hilarious/serious/scary and it has perfect atmosphere to even this day. The story is about a knight who had been said to kill and evil wizard... but he actually didn't. Is heroics were completely unfounded and he was in fact the first person to fall in battle against the wizard, now, he must prove himself as a hero he was meant to be and prove everyone wrong by finishing what he started! This NEEDS a remake... NOW!!!!

2nd, Freedom Fighters

This is a fucking CRIME that this has no had a rerelease or even a fucking sequel!!! I am pissed the fuck off for the fact that this game is what Homefront was supposed to be... 10 fucking years before Homefront! The story was great, the music is grade fucking AAA and it is just an amazing singleplayer game... seriously? WTF Eidos? You guys PROMISED us that you were working on it... 5 fucking years ago around the time Kane and lynch was coming out and that after it you guys would be working on a sequel... well, it has been a fucking while and now you guys are saying the same thing, just with the new Hitman game instead... NO ONE FUCKING CARES... we WANT FREEDOM FIGHTERS!!!! We have for YEARS... YEARS DAMMIT!

3rd, ACTRAISER!!!!

Actraiser, quite possibly the most AWESOME religious video game ever made EVER. You are God... or wait... The Master... (Fucking nintendo censors back then.) You fight against the forces of Tanzra... or Satan if you will. To restore the land back to it's former form where humans had no fear of evil and good triumphed. You raise your people up from a small amount to going up to several thousand, becoming tougher and tougher for every child born. Until you face the monsters that threaten your people. Everything was great about this game. EVERYTHING. Hell, even the ending was actually rather sad really. Also, the MUSIC, THE AMAZING MUSIC!

4rth, Conkers Bad Fur Day 64!

We are thoroughly ignoring the xbox version. WHY? Play the original game, then that game, and tell me which one is actually good, yeah. obvious. also, it isn't even as censored on the 64 version as the xbox version. (THAT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE!!!!) Besides, how many games have you fighting a giant peice of crap and the end of the game being one of the most depressing things ever? Not many. Here is a random scene that I love in this game. (Of which there are many.) Yes, it is a saving private ryan spoof... with Nazi teddi bears... AWESOME! I actually remember playing this game NONSTOP when I was little... no, I did not become an evil dickhead because of it. HAHA JACK THOMPSON!!!!

5th and finally. DEUS EX!!!

Now I realize some people will disagree with me on this. But be honest, the game isn't the pretty young thing like you remember! Seriously... Conkers bad fur day video up there looks WAY better than it... sadly. Also with new gameplay mechanics of the newer games, with some brand new interfaces to make it a bit better... oh, and a couple new voice actors for JC Denton and such would be a major plus. (with the option to go back to the old emotionless voice of JC denton still there.) Also the fact that people now want a sequel to Human revolution WITHOUT knowing that this game IS the sequel, I think they should just rerelease this just so people can feel a little more complete. Here is a video to prove my point on the graphics.

Ugh... I am not a graphics hound, but even then, that games looks just UGLY nowadays.

That is it folks, if you have any other games you would love to see remakes/sequels off of, let it be heard!

Well seeing as I've pretty much fallen in love with Skyrim, I think instead of a sequel route, bethesda should remake one of the elder Elderscrolls games. Arena with Skyrim graphics & engine (or better) would be pretty cool.

for me it's Battlefield 2 and Max Payne. I would pay unbelievable amounts of money for a Frostbite 2 Battlefield 2 game.

... But saying now or later just means some point in the future that unspecified and... Okay, back on topic! I honestly can't think of anything I want remade or redone. I think if I really wanted anything remade it would be bad games that ran out of money or had bad design decisions, in the hopes that the remakers could fix the more major flaws and add to the games in meaningful ways. I know why they don't do things like that, but it would still be awesome if games like Alpha Protocol were remade in that way. It's those kinds of games that I'd love to see remakes of, games that had a ton of potential and capitalized on that potential in great ways, yet still follied due to god awful shooting or other gaping flaws, although Alpha Protocol is a bit too recent.

Edit: I loved Ring of Red for the PS2, and was disappointed that Konami has never tried anything like it since (AFAIK). That game could really use some overhauling. Maybe if sales are good enough on the PSN...

I completely agree with OP's comments about Deus Ex and Freedom Fighters. Games seem to offer more watered down commonplace same-as-each-other experiences now-a-days, with better graphics. Probably due to the cost of development, but it sucks how rarely something really interesting comes out.

Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX needs another sequel. I hate skateboard games. File this under not likely.

Postal 2 needs a real sequel. Even an expanded remake. Not the third-person whatever it is that has been in development so long that it will be outdated by the time it arrives. I loved the whole "it's only as violent as you are" freedom of the game along with it's setting in just kind of normal place, especially with the AWP patch. Maybe I'll be surprised and 3 will be a worthy sequel if it ever comes out.

The original Rainbow Six - from back when the game incorporated advanced planning. That'd be nice. Again, never going to happen, instead they're going after the COD market.

Condemned and Mirror's Edge - bring on some sequels! These were "FPS" type games that actually offered something new and fun...atypical I know, and apparently not very profitable.

And maybe add The Warriors - the only beat 'em up I ever finished.

Games that deserve remakes are bad/missed potential games that have good ideas based around them. 
I dont really understand when people want their favourite games remade...
 
Spore and ManHunt and Black & White could all be amazing games...

Anyone remember Trap Gunner for PS1? Still hold to my belief that it is one of the most fun competitive multiplayer games I ever played.

I dont know about the others, but they made a new Deus Ex because gaming has evolved, and i do not want to play those poor ass missions again. and Bad Fur Day is a product of a different generation where game humor was a lot more low brow. a remake would go much the same way as duke nukem. but if they did a reboot and made it more like saints row then i might be in.

I could tell you to use capital letters more sparingly, but that's an easy target. Fish in the proverbial barrel. So instead, I'm going to say System Shock and Thief, and their respective sequels. Not only could they use a new coat of paint since those games are pretty old, they could play nicer with modern Windows systems as well. Just setting them up on a modern computer is a task of Herculean scope.

I would pay unbelievable amounts of money for a Frostbite 2 Battlefield 2 game.

@Trylks: Grim Fandango is a good call.

I hate the rest of you for not saying The Lost Vikings yet.

I'd say Freedom Fighters shouldn't have a remake or HD touch. Some games were good because of how games were at the time; TPS have evolved so much that a game like Freedom Fighters just wouldn't be as fun or have the charm the original did.

The Legend of Dragoon, it had alot of great ideas but the executions were less than awesome so i think its deserving....that battle system is among my favorites

Can't wait for Max Payne 3!

Also, Freedom Fighters remake would be awesome too!
