Heavy Rain remind me of Twin Peaks and its as original as the latter. I watched the twin peaks series and I don't remember the show ever having Silent Hill type monsters.

MGS reminds me of a movie, although they can never make a movie good enough to tell the story better than the games.

@Mordukai: The thing you are reminded of doesn't have to be the same has the thing that reminded you of it. Anyway since when does Alan wake have 'Silent Hill' type monsters, all the videos i have seen have ordinary looking people that just happen to have an allergic reaction to light.....and bullets to the face.

The reason Alan Wake reminds me of twin peaks is because it's based in a forest setting, with unusal locals and has a creepy vibe.

Fallout 3 reminds me of the 1975 sci-fi cult classic "A Boy and His Dog".  Not so much the dog part of the film but Fallout 3's Vault stuff.  The first time I played the game I said, "hey this is just like in A Boy and His Dog."  Bethesda needs to call Lionhead and ask if they can incorporate the dog from Fable 2 into the next Fallout.

Resident Evil 4 opening scene in the woods just reminded me of the 70's Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and then once I got to the 3 chainsaw nuts in that area behind the big wooden fence that allows you to chose 2 paths totally felt like TCM 3x.  Still to this date I love playing RE4, great vibe.
