Hello giantbomb community, I haven't really been to this forum in a while, but that's not the point, the question is, what are some games you wish that you never purchased? Me?, I would have to say Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, this game was suppose to be epic for me, but, I was just extremely sad with it.
One more game I would have to say I regret purchasing would have to be Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, I wish I had waited for the full pack, but hey, we all make mistakes right? So tell me, what games have YOU regret purchasing? (so far at least)

Devil May Cry 4... Oh, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X.

Diablo 2. Man, this game was a huge disappointment. Even though I bought it for 10 euro I still regret it!

Warhammer online Collector's Edition = /

World Of Warcraft. That game has damn near ruined my life on several occasions >:(

  • God Of War
  • Gears of War 2
  • Devil May Cry 3
Might be in minority, still I hated those games.

Halo 3
Lara Croft-game on XBLA... you can't play coop over live wth.

#15 Posted by ShaneDev (1696 posts) -

Fable 2 maybe, I got it at the same time as Fallout 3 and ended up liking Fallout 3 much much more and I still finished it but never played it since, don't even have some of the easier achievements.

#16 Posted by SquirrelGOD (507 posts) -

Fable 3 is the one that stands out the most for me these days.

#17 Posted by JJOR64 (19098 posts) -

Halo 3: ODST.

Eternal Poison.
what was i thinking?

#19 Posted by CookieMonster (2460 posts) -

Man, my list is endless, but here are the most I can remember:
Snoopy's Flying Ace
Worms 2 Armageddon
Far Cry 2
Fallout 3
Splosion Man
I have to say I regret Splosion Man the most. Its possibly one of the most dullest games of all time. The only thing it has going for it is the doughnut song.

#20 Posted by Cincaid (2959 posts) -

Great game that I spent too much time on: World of Warcraft (not anymore, thankfully).
Not-so-good game I definatly could live without: Final Fantasy XIII. I completed and almost S-Ranked it, but damn it was disappointing start to finish.

#21 Posted by Inkerman (1455 posts) -

Yep, bet nobody else has heard of that game.

Resonance of Fate.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
because my computer can't run it :(

Skate 2. Biggest let down I've had so far. Love the first one but for everything they fixed in the sequel, they fuck up something else, to the point of being unplayable at times. I really really wanted to like it as well.

#25 Posted by AlexW00d (6504 posts) -

Bioshock 2 and Fable 2 are probably my most prominent choices.

#26 Posted by SolongWrex (154 posts) -

Street Fighter IV. Just couldn't get into it.

I just returned it right after I beat it for around $40. What was in the collector's edition?
#28 Posted by TaliciaDragonsong (8609 posts) -

Modern Warfare 2.
Piece of shit.

#29 Posted by Burns098356GX (1366 posts) -

Transformers WFC
Battlefield Bad Co 1.
MGS4, I dont know why people say its a good game. I found the movement controls and aiming to be really sub-par for whats considered a big title on PS3.
Little Big Planet, stopped being cute after about 30 minutes.
...basically anything I bought for PS3.
Fable 2

I think I got the soundtrack, The Taxedermist DLC and some random poster thingy.

I usually try to find merit in all of my purchases, so my list is fairly short:
Fable 2

I agree with that remark on Splosion Man. Had a lot of fun with it at first and then it just got so damn boring.
I would also have to say Left 4 Dead 2. Even though it technically is a better sequel I like everything from the first one better like the maps and characters.

Only a few, since I have to be very selective of game purchases to being with.

Games That, In Hindsight, I Probably Should Not Have Payed Full Price For

Due to my limited budget over the years, I can usually justify the games that I buy, especially those at full price.  But, there are some that, looking back on, I probably should have just waited on or rented at best.

1. Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

It's a good game, especially for a console strategy game, but there were other great games of 2008 that I missed out on because of the $60 I spent on this bad boy.

2. Perfect Dark Zero

I was a huge fan of the first installment and it was a launch title for the Xbox 360, a perfect recipe for me to waste money on. It's still a quality title, but I never put enough hours into it to match the price tag.

3. Resistance 2

Again, another quality game, but I just never got into the multiplayer and the single player campaign left enough to be desired that makes me wonder why I payed the full price tag for it. Again, there were other better games of 2008 that I could have purchased instead.

Final Fantasy VIII
I have never been so excited and let down with a game in my life
#35 Posted by guiseppe (2844 posts) -
Saint's Row. It is too much of a blatant GTA ripoff for me to enjoy.
#36 Posted by RankRabbit (394 posts) -

Medal of Honor, decent single player but broken spawn-killing fest online. Traded it in.

#37 Posted by eroticfishcake (7792 posts) -

Gothic Trilogy for 20 quid.
I want my time, money and dignity back.

True Crime: Streets of L.A.

What was I thinking?
Also, if it counts, The Wii and Playstation 3.

#39 Posted by ThePickle (4179 posts) -

Fallout New Vegas
I should've gotten RDR instead of that piece of crap.

#40 Posted by damnboyadvance (4061 posts) -

Modnation Racers. Only played it for a few days.
Might as well open it back up and get some of the easy trophies.

Brutal Legend and about half my Steam games list. I'm already preparing my credit card for the ass raping it's going to get next month in the Steam Christmas sale. It has become a yearly tradition at this point.
I'm also sure that a few of the games I bought on my PS3 Binge will be disappointing.

#42 Posted by luce (4045 posts) -

God of War 3
I went into it thinking I was going to like the series (since I love DMC) so I went and payed $60 for it.
Ended up trading it in after I beat it

That $2 Pinball game i bought on Steam.

#45 Posted by Mikewrestler5 (601 posts) -

Most of my games. I buy them when the first come out and only play them for a few weeks. After that, I'm done with it. Talk about a waste of money...

That $2 Pinball game i bought on Steam.
And probably Halo 3

Goddam I wished that game did better.  Had some neat ideas going for it, but what a botched up opening week for them.
#48 Posted by PrivateIronTFU (3874 posts) -

Far Cry 2 and Brutal Legend. Both boring as shit. At least put some sort of fast travel system in Far Cry 2, for fucks sake.

#49 Posted by LordAndrew (14430 posts) -

Most of the stuff I bought on Steam.

I bought that game for the pre-order bonus. I didn't receive the pre-order bonus, and never opened the game. Money well spent...

Halo 3
Fable 2
Far Cry 2
Naruto: Rise of a Ninja
Burnout Paradise
I sold everything except for Far Cry 2 and Burnout because I can't get rid of those.
