Title says it all really. Every month or so I burn a playlist of new and good music that I'm listening to for my Dad, and recently I've been wanting to make one that's a bit different. Hotline Miami and it's brilliant soundtrack have pushed me from precipice to action, and now I'm going about trying to find original music from games that stands on its own. For the most part I've been avoiding orchestral and ambiance pieces, instead including tracks like from Hotline Miami's ost and Shatter too. Any suggestion for other games that had great original music, that's preferably a bit more contemporary than the gazillion JRPG pieces that are usually recommended in these types of thread? Cheers!
Games with great, original contemporary music?
Michael McCann's Deus Ex: Human Revolution soundtrack, Akira Yamaoka's work on Shadows of the Damned, Silent Hill 4 and Silent Hill Shattered Memories (his entire catalog, really), Darren Korb's Bastion soundtrack.

You went ahead and used all my suggestions. Fuck.
You know what? I also enjoy Dustforce and Frozen Synapse's soundtracks, personally.
Fez's soundtrack is retro, but it works astoundingly well on its own.
I'm also a sucker for Shoji Meguro's Persona soundtracks.
Retro City Rampage and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World both have some crazy-cool chiptune soundtracks, for starters. I'm also fond of the music of Flower, though I guess it's not exactly the kind you'd put on your iPod.
@markini6: Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery has my favourite game soundtrack ever, and it is very contemporary. It was made by Jim Guthrie, a guy involved in a lot of great Canadian bands.
Frozen Synapse by far. I bought the soundtrack with the game and have had more use from the soundtrack.
