" Croc & Croc 2 on the Playstation. Those were some good games. "Wow I had forgotten those games. I had a lot of fun with those games...man that brings me back. Thanks for that!
Games you never hear about anymore
" @ArbitraryWater said:It's M&M 1-6, which means it's all but 3. M&M 7 is actually my favorite, but 8 isn't super great and 9 is decidedly mediocre. So it's really only one game that matters. Heroes 1-3 are also available at $10 each, which isn't bad at all." What about the Might and Magic series? Once a stellar franchise of both dungeon crawling RPGs and surprisingly popular Turn Based Strategy Games (Heroes of Might and Magic. Where I get my icon from), which unfortunately failed to prevent 3DO and by association, New World Computing from going under. The great thing is that you can get all but one (possibly two) of the Might & Magic games over at gog.com for six bucks. "
Now in the hands of Ubisoft, who appears to be just fine with doing nothing with the brand besides releasing a new Heroes game that was good, but kind of just a rehash of Heroes 3 with the most boring and generic fantasy universe ever, and a bunch of mediocre to well-received spinoff titles. "
" @triple07 said:I will be paying in internet dollars. Please go to your nearest bank and ask them to redeem these internet dollars" @nanikore said:No problem. That will be $79.99. Will you be paying in cash? "" Croc & Croc 2 on the Playstation. Those were some good games. "Wow I had forgotten those games. I had a lot of fun with those games...man that brings me back. When they weren't making Command & Conquer, Westwood used to make other amazing games that are barely remembered, like Blade Runner and the Lands of Lore series.
Lots and lots of classic point-and-click adventure games are practically forgotten now, also. The Zork, Discworld and Simon the Sorcerer series, for instance.
" I was cleaning out some old boxes and came across my old PC games and stumbled onto the Journeyman Project series. I realized that I never hear anyone talk about these amazing games. I always thought they were some of the best first person adventures ever, and although the graphics were all pre rendered, they really did a great job at immersing you in a great sci-fi world. Does anyone else have fond memories of these? And more so, any other games you consider great that you never hear about anymore? "Had the entire trilogy, plus the Pegasus Prime remake. Remarkable series of games, and a must play for adventure gaming enthusiasts.
For me, it has to be The Legacy of Kain series, although there's a part of me that doesn't exactly want the series to technically continue, because the franchise did something rare: It ended.
Although, I would like to go back to Nosgoth one last time.
The Dune games from Westwood were absolutely awesome too, especially Emperor, oh god i love that game...
Then there's the good old Mother series, only played Earthbound, and never finished it. Wonder when it'll get released on virtual console.
Lost Vikings was also awesome...but i never finished it cause of the 'save' system. 2 Added weird character and weird stuff like cyborg vikings too.
Cardynal sin was a good fighing game, trying to remember a few more games.
Disrupter and descent were also good.
"I honestly have to call this game underrated. I mean, yeah it was bad. But worst game ever? Not even close.. There are so many much, much worse games out there.
You can't talk about Shaq Fu enough. "
This was at least playable, if very stiff and not much fun.
Most of the games that I'm thinking of are old PC adventure games and most of those are still brought up from time to time so I really got nothin'. I will say that you don't hear much about The 7th Guest anymore. That game was pretty mind-blowing at the time. Never played the sequel, but the original was pretty revolutionary.
Little Nemo for the NES. One of my favorite games of all time and no-one seems to remember it really...
Jak and Daxter used to be a top tier franchise when the PS2 was the king of the gaming hill. But, except for a PSP game which largely went unnoticed when released, the series seems to have disappeared from conversations. I know that Naughty Dog has found new success with their Uncharted property, but does that mean they can't do something serious with their old franchise. Insomniac has been able to maintain Resistance and Ratchet & Clank this generation.
Also, whatever happened to Toe Jam and Earl? All I can recall is the old Xbox game showing up on Games on Demand.
