JRPGs. I used to play a lot of them as a kid. But don't care for them now. P4 was a lot of fun to watch. I also really like watching competitive War/Starcraft and WoW matches. Got really into arena back in the day, so I still like to watch.
The longer the JRPG the better. Bet I would watch Jeff and Vinny play a MMO-RPG.

This. I'm not particularly against playing it--after all, I've been hearing good things--but at this point I feel like this game is better off being experienced via Endurance Run
There are quite a few games that fall into this category for me, actually - the only caveat is that the game isn't too repetitive. There are some games that I find too tedious, like the Silent Hill series for instance - I find watching those games much more enjoyable than actually playing them. Because, you know - all the puzzles in Silent Hill 2 were stupid and the gameplay was garbage. The only thing good about that series is the story, and you don't have to play the game to get that.
Modern Warfare 2 and Third Strike. The first one because I have lost any interest to continue to play it online, the second because I was never really good at, even though I think that mechanically it's still the best SF ever made.
Ninja gaiden and godhand on master ninja/hard, they require so much concentration and I suck at those games. For other action games I'd rather play them myself.
Uhm, Deadly Premonition for sure. Also, some horror games. They're fun and I love them, but it's less scary to watch than play and it's always great to watch whoever is playing jump when something happens.

haha well i just get tired of adventure games nowadays. fighting games can hold my attention for a very long time. otherwise, if story is the only thing that's not repetitive, i dont mind watching someone else play it
I usually enjoy watching my friends play sandbox type games, like Just Cause 2 or GTA. Everything else I usually feel the need to steal the controller and play myself.
I don't prefer watching a fighting game to playing one, but it's the only genre I don't mind watching someone else play without getting a greater urge to just play. Seeing people pull off combos and strategies I don't even have the finger speed to do is entertaining.
