Twisted Metal 2, Age of Empires 2, and SOCOM 2 & 3
Games you wish would get HD updates
I'd love to see someone do something with Rock 'N Roll Racing. He'll just put it on XBLA as is and I'd be happy.

Edit: And play FF6 dude!
I want to! It was only released on the SNES and PSOne, right? I was kinda hoping for a re-release on a new handheld like FFIV (which I also need to get around to playing...)
Xenosaga would be nice. Also Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga. They aren't even my favorite MegaTen games, but I think they would benefit from an HD upgrade more than Persona.

I was thinking Kingdom Hearts but I replayed it last month and it still plays fine and looks good. Maybe Earthbound but I still play that on my SNES.
Kingdom Hearts is getting an HD upgrade.
I didn't realize anyone had ported it to Android yet. The residualvm forums seem to be down right now which is where I'm guessing info on it can be found. How well does it control on the touchscreen? I always hated that the game wasn't just point and click.Should be working now. Page 4post #12. That's the build I downloaded. I basically installed and copied my Grim Data Folder(s) to my SIII (current Jelly Bean).
I agree. I'm a die hard point & click enthusiast. I wasn't big on the whole controller use, which I found to be clunky. But hey, you get used to it and it eventually becomes a non-issue once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately, the touch screen aspect of playing on Android wasn't working very well for me at all, so I basically went ahead and downloaded a free controller overlay (onscreen touch controller) titled GamePad from Google Play. That works well, and allows you to bind keys on top of a bunch of other settings. That aside, the game plays, looks, and sounds as good as it did on the PC. Something very cool about portable Grim Fandango, and it never fails to impress other fans of the game.
...Seems like most of these people aren't terribly exposed to the pc. Yes not every pc game is hd. Some of the ps2 ports go up to 1024x768. But max payne 1-2? Are you serious? It started on pc. Still looks amazing at 1080p on pc. This thread is about hd updates? Not remakes right? A good 80% of the games posted already have hd versions out.

That's a gosh darn lie and you know it!
Does anyone else.. y'know.. not like HD updates? I get the idea, and even I have bought the Ico Collection since I always wanted to play Ico and have had trouble finding it for a decent prince. But if Joshua Sony showed up at my door and was like, "Would you like this PS2 copy of Ico, or would you like me to up-res it and put it on a Blu-ray?" I'd take the PS2 copy in a second. There's just something about playing an original version...

FFXII with the zodiac job system or whatever it was.
square should re put out it's best game, after all.
3rd best game, let's not get carried away.
But yes they should and considering how great it look on the PS2, especially the quality of the character models it would look stunning in HD. Up there with the best HD re-release.

It was also released on the GBA, and its on both PSN and Virtual Console. But y'know. There are always other options.
Just Halo 2 so I can finally sit down and play all the Halo games in an HD marathon of Halo Reach, Halo Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary-er, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 3 and Halo 4 in that order.
Or watch Drew and Alexis do it :)
I would love to see an HD version of Tony Hawk's Underground and maybe an HD remake of BattleTanx-Global Assualt

I was thinking about an emulator but I doubt it'd look much better than the PSN version on a PSP. I'll probably go for that one.

The remake of the original Resident Evil!
That would be great!
But for my own answer, the TimeSplitters series would be awesome!

Was going to say the exact same thing, the only ones that this rule doesn't apply is Nintendo titles, Sony First Party stuff, and older sprite based games.
Any game released on the PC within the last 10-12 years already fits the bill of an "HD remake".
But yeah, I would like to see a remake of SOCOM 2, and the Shenmue titles.

The remake of the original Resident Evil! It's an odd choice, but I really do want to be able to play it on my PS3. Tired of using my Gamecube or an emulator to play it, because its friggin great!
Great choice.
Eternal Darkness and Majora's Mask are two games I'd buy in an instant if they were to be released in HD.

Raze's Hell, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (also known as probably one of the best games ever made), Midtown Madness 3, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic all come to mind.
I like your style.
@evanbower: I don't like the need for HD updates. Most of the times is because Joshua Sony doesn't like BC and wants to charge me again for PS2 games with minor updates and features (like trophies, because god knows its exactly what they were lacking). It also means that, if I want to play a more exotic game on PS2 I am boned unless I have that console; as most games will never get an HD treatment.
