Hey guys!

I was thinking about the GB crew while in the shower today(totally wasn't sexual, I swear), and how I look forward to hearing about certain genres from specific GB members. It goes like this:

Jeff - FPS, Racing, Fighters

Brad - All RPGs

Dan - Nintendo(I know this isn't a genre, but I love hearing Dan talk about Nintendo games)

Drew - Strategy, Military sim, Halo

Patrick - Indie

Alex - Everything. I love hearing Alex talk about every genre.

Jason - Fighters

Rorie - All JRPGs

Vinny - everything!

What about you guys?

  • Jeff- Anytime Jeff gets passionate about mechanics I listen, Shooters, Rhythm, Racing, Fighting
  • Brad- Competitive and Cooperative online multiplayer games, Action Adventure, RTS
  • Vinny- Open World and AAA Rpgs, anything where mayhem could be part of the fun
  • Alex- Sports, some Nintendo and what not to play
  • Jason- Fighting and CAG games, Has good insight into skill based combat systems
  • Rorie- RPGs, MMORPGs, CRPGs
  • Drew - Sims, Offbeat technical stuff
  • Patrick- Horror, Platformers, kind of an everyman really. His approach is interesting since he almost always seems to approach games from the perspective of trying to understand why people like a game, not necessarily whether he himself actually likes a game. In a way I feel like he approaches games much more like a journalist would than a reviewer (e.g. Patrick- "Why do people like Dynasty Warriors/Monster Hunter/Fire Emblem etc?" vs Jeff- " I think Dynasty Warriors is dog$hit"), it's a different approach I find hit or miss but value for its uniqueness.
  • Dan - local multiplayer? Don't really know him very well yet. Seems like perhaps the most Nintendo person on staff, but seems to be perhaps a true generalist, jack of all genres master of none?
