Gears of War 2 Adverts

Appearing on a Giant Bomb near you!
Check out some of the game pages, they'll have GoW2 flash adverts above the box art. I think they appear randomly though.
Thoughts?

Yeah, I have seen it. It is pretty cool, too. Seems like they put it in a good place so it isn't exactly in the way, but gives the guys some income.

I personally like the placement of those ads, they don't necessarily get in the way, but there is a problem of thinking that you are on the GeOW2 page when it is on a different page. Overall though, I think its good.

I don't mind the ads, and at least it's not taking up too much of the page.

Now if you want to see an ad placement that I think gets in the way, look at the one in the search bar. I think that one will be a pain if it is put on the site.

Just saw a Gears 2 advert in the Newest Topics section, basically in the middle (by all the tools, etc.)

imo if the ad is about the inpending release of any computer game on any system , you can have as many as you want , if you can manage to keep the ad's video game industry based , put as many as you like if it means the site stays open and the GB guys get the money they deserve to get , so they can buy more games and make a weekly show maybe ???? or is that asking abit much lol

I like the size of it, but I wish it was above the History and Favorites bar.

I have had adblock plus. Haven't seen an ad for years. Turned it off to check out the GB ads, promptly turned it back on and went about with no ads.

Totally buying Gears 2 because of this. Cliffy, you better be grateful.

I would not buy that game with our without those adds, ive had a bad experience with this series and im not going back.

Ads look cool though.

I'm still waiting for the horribly intrusive Littlest Pet Shop ads.

Don't really like the look of the ad, but the placement is really nice. I hate those fuckers that pop up and cover up what you're reading, and then you can't find the close button. > : (

I can bear the ads, just as long we aren't overflowing with them.

I've never really minded ads, unless they're huge, annoying, and/or plentiful. (Gamspot) Giantbomb's gotta make money somehow. Better that the ads are games related than just ads.

They should try selling t-shirts and hoodies and things like that. Apparently that type of merchandise makes a ton of money on the internet.
