Hey, conversing is good, I do it on a daily basis. But what is with all the shallow forum topics on GB of late?
'What is your favourite *insert game/object/company here* ?' 'What do you hate the most about *inester game/object/company here* ?'
It's getting a bit embarrassing. Maybe it's just new users being a bit over zealous but if we're going to have a conversation let's talk about something actually worthwhile rather than conversing for the sake of it.
Okay so it's put up or shut up time and I've probably set myself up for a fall but here goes -
Narrative Dissonance - Does gameplay not relating to the overall narrative affect you from enjoying a game?
A few examples of this are -
- Nathan Drake being a happy go lucky guy yet he shoots a bajillion people in the face, takes loads of shots and regenerates health but can be shot in a cut scene
- Aeries dying in a cut scene when prior to this in gameplay you could use a Phoenix Down to revive her,
- Batman being infected by the Joker then flying over Gotham beating dudes up, conquering Mr Freeze but then in a cut scene is affected by the disease.
Does this affect your overall enjoyment of a game or is it just 'Hey, VidjaGames'?
