Giant Bomb Co-Operates With Area 5
Kinda wish I hadn't read this now... gonna watch Co-Op before I go to bed and randomly seeing Brad on there would have made me MFTO.
Aww man. Why can't it always be like this? If only there was someway that Giantbomb and Area 5 were just one company...that would be my dream.
I guess I'm the only one who doesn't really care for co-op or any of the 1up people. They take games too serious. Oh well, I'll watch it if GB is on there :P
I love Co-op, but what I could do without is the waste-of-time skits I've seen in the few episodes I have watched so far. I'm a down to business kinda guy, and the humor in video game show skits is generally lacking.
It's a page straight outta X-Play. Adam Sessler is a genious of a gamer, and someone I greatly look up to, but he gets held back so much when he's forced to throw in the stupid humor and skits.
I wonder if Brad misses the food in SF, now that he's a traitor and moved away to Marin (*sippin' wine with pinky in the air emote* goes here) ? :p
some of the skits on co-op are pretty good, they add a lot of personality to the show.... i think at least.
Nah you're not the only one TripMasterMunky haha. But that's not my reason.
That Ryan guy really reminded me of Dave Toister...
Great discussion though! i really really want to get Riddick: Dark Athena now.
OMG I was actually watching CO-OP the other day on revision 3 and thought that It would be cool if you guys appeared on their show, they host new guests every episode so far! Awesome, checking it out now!
I guess I didn't really mean..."serious," its just that....these guys seem like they just play Braid 24/7 and talk about how "artsy" it is. They just annoy me usually, and their skits are hardly ever funny.
Also, Brad looks like an 8 year old boy in here.
lol i was just about to watch this on revision3.com
then i went to giantbomb and seen the same video
giantbomb and area 5 are the best
Co-Ops a good show. My only complaint are those unnecessary skits they throw in there. It feels too contrived and out of place for the type of heady-gamer vibe they appear to be shooting for.
I think the Area 5 guys are great and it was a real treat to see Brad on the show when I watched this morning.
What I don't get from previous comments is people are either complaining that Co-op is too "artsy" or that the skits are "dumb and pointless" or both. Is it just me or does this completely contradict. The guys interject the skits purposely to show their personalities and to make sure the tone doesn't stay too serious. They used to do it back on the 1up show as well so its not like its anything new.
that intro song almost made me shoot myself.
Saw it the day it popped up on my iTunes. Didn't expect to see Brad on it, so that was a nice surprise. Nice to see a variety of guests.
Gives me something else to watch when downtime at work. Like that they create their own mock advertisements for companies, actually have a SquareSpace account at work. The opening theme reminds me of the opening song from "The United States of Tara" for some reason, it really doesn't go with a video game site imo, but meh thats me.
"Very nice! When do I get my Rebel FM/Giant Bomb mash-up episode?"
Ive been wishing that for as long as it was possible.
Co-op is an awesome show, even though they do adverts they're usually short or they make them interesting. Spoiler of an ad (if that matters) - They make the add for gamefly an old time advert with sepia/film grain etc. with the voice over saying "Do you feel like you never have enough money for video games? Then why not try Gamefly" and then the dude's face reacting to it all. Pretty original rather than "Gamefly rents x amount of video games, and put in our code to get a trial". Hopefully the rest of Giant Bomb will get on soon.
I love when people complain about ads. As if there is absolutely no reason these guys should get paid for what they're doing. Then, without the ads, when the show disappears, everyone will be saying "where did it go?". If you had an ounce of gratitude or realism of how the world works you might think about writing sponsors like Netflix or Gamefly and letting them know that you appreciate their keeping shows like CO-OP available for nerds like us.
It's better than thinking that the money just silently arrives in the mail as long as the intentions are good.
