Giant Bomb: The Fighting Game

After watching the behind the scenes video for the E3 panel production, I couldn't resist the suggestion that the footage would make great fighting game sprites, so I made one. It's not very pretty, but when dealing with FMV fighting games I feel like that's part of the charm. Also, I could only make moves using the footage I could salvage from the video, so some characters are a little bit... underpowered.

Anyway, hope someone gets a laugh out of it. Let me know if there are any terrible problems, I'm sure it's still very buggy.

There is no preloader. You'll just get a blank screen until it has loaded.

How long does it take though? It's been sitting there for 2 minutes.

Hehe wow..  this is very silly and very incomplete. Nifty though.

Yeah, I think the best way to enjoy this is to go to practice mode and watch all the animations.

Player 1 is WASD and Player 2 is arrow keys but I don't know what the attacks are.

Yeah, me neither really, my input handling code is very wonky. They are possible, though. It only runs at 12fps so the best approach is to just enter them very slowly and deliberately.

All the moves are listed on the practice mode.

Alex doesn't have a normal attack. Still the best character so far.

Drew's win animation is the best part about this.

Klepek doesn't have an attack as well. Klepek specials are awesome, though. Man, the special attacks are hard.

@trotoise: It's really weirdly unspecific. Like, just saying Chrome couldn't find the webpage but not giving anything else like a timeout or whatever. *shrugs*

As a fighting game, it's terrible. As a game you probably whipped up in half an hour based off a silly video from a website about video games, it's incredible. Bravo, sir, I can honestly say I enjoyed the 5 minutes or so I played around with it.

Also, Brad for the win. Don't know why, but his basic attack can kill in a second.

This should be a Kickstarter project! Right?

Brad and Alex are my favorites. But Patrick actually look somewhat fluid in his movements.

Think we have a future TNT here folks. Alex's jump is just brilliant.

It's pretty good, Alex's jump and Brad's hadoken are pretty good as well.

This is incredible!

Maining Tricky, his helicopter is a killer, all you have to do is hold down and the attack button to do it :p

Can't do any other combos though.

Yes.

Vinny's basic attack is great, I also love that his idle animation takes up half the screen.

No guns, Brad, Final Destination.
