Fuck yea Vinny! HUMPING DESKS!
Giant Bomb's Top 10s for 2010: Day Four
Thanks for putting Darksiders on your list, Vinny. Game was fantastic and I still don't get how it is so overlooked.
Closest list to mine so far, 3 outta 10, good job vinny. Looks like mass effect 2 is going to be GOTY.
" Mass Effect 2 is not an RPG, it is a mediocre cover based shooter with dumbed down RPG, if not completely castrated, that fanboys drool over because they can hump pixelized ass. Seriously visit official Bioware Mass Effect forums, majority of the threads there concern whether or not Tali should be in ME3 to continue the romance...shameless. "Oh ok sure I'll let a bunch of forum posts dictate my opinion of ME2 - sounds stellar!
Nice to see Zettai Hero Project: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman get at least a mention, because that game is quickly taking up all my free time.
Vinny: Best Top 10 of the Year video of the year.
Also between having an import copy of Super Robot Wars: Original Generations and having Etrian Odyssey III in his top 10 list, Greg Kasavin is quickly becoming my second favorite person in the video game industry. (First place remains a tie between Paul Barnette and Will Wright.)

" @Nomin said:The whole "HURR DURR MASS EFFECT 2 WASN'T AN RPG!!!' argument is getting really old. So what if the game was streamlined, maybe a bit too much for some people, it was still an excellent game. Get your head out of y our ass and let people enjoy it." "Herpaderp RPG sanctity purity blablabla derp. You guys suck for liking something that is popular and universally praised. Ignorant fools, behold me, the last shining beacon of reason on earth!
Ok, so I overdid that a bit, but seriously dude chill out.
Another day of great lists. Haven't watched Vinny's due to the current state of my computer, but Greg and Jeremiah's lists are still of great interest.
Hm, perhaps going into Super Scribblenauts without having playing the first game really is the best way to get the most out of that game. I just started playing Lock's Quest, and I find it interesting how similar the interface is when you start the game. Are 5th Cell's other games like this?
Another list with Recettear, that's cool to see. I liked the game, but I'm not sure it's enough to put it in my top 10.

Greg's list is awesome. Also he really does need to play 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Such a fantastic game.
" @S0ndor said:Read the opening of this Wikipedia article and then tell me that Mass Effect 2 is not a role-playing game. Granted, citing a Wikipedia article to defend this isn't the strongest argument, but the definition therein isn't at all unreasonable. Mass Effect 2 involves you playing the role of a character. You level them up, you customize them to some degree, you make significant decisions when interacting with NPCs, and the outcome is largely dependent on those decisions. It is a role-playing game, even if it doesn't match up 100% with what you're used to experiencing in role-playing games." @Nomin said:Well, he is right you know. People get way too over-protective about what are essentially just descriptors. Mass Effect 2 is a third-person role-playing game that is very combat-heavy. The end.
The rest of the world "unanimously" embraced Oblivion when it came out. That doesn't change the fact that it was a dumbed-down console game." @Ignor: Naw. All genres evolve. Shooters, platformers and strategy games are barely recognizable when compared to their ancestors. Yet we praise them for being innovative and edgy. When it comes to RPG's though, there's always a bunch of people who cry and scream and claim that you have defiled the sanctity of the almighty RPG gods. Evolution and innovation are natural processes. People need to get over it, especially when the rest of the world unanimously embraces the new product and showers it with awards and endless praise. You just end up coming across as a relentlessly contrarian, pretentious douche, like Armond White. And let's be honest, I don't think any of us want to be compared to Armond White. "
