Giantbomb should disable youtube video likes and comments

Well, not that I'm gonna freak out if youtube kids write stupid comments like "7 people who disliked the video are not duders", "Press 5 to watch Brad stare you in the eyes" or 4chan hacking quicklooks with porn (which i guess is inevitable), I just felt like disabling both likes and comments can help redirect the discussion back to the site.

Argh, I didn't watch that video so that none of Uncharted 3 would be spoiled for me. I really wish I hadn't read that. Did you really need to reference it when you know that at least one person in this thread specifically considered it a spoiler. Annoying.

I think the bigger issue is that a gaming site is uploading 360P footage and we're nearly in 2012.

If you're a subscriber, you get to see the videos here instead of on Youtube, and obviously much better quality.

You can still watch the HD videos and 480 videos on the site though? The only change was they added youtube, they didn't remove the existing video options. Also subscribers don't have 1080p, HD in GB is all 720p and is a subscriber benefit (they record their videos in 720p so there'd be no point in having them be 1080p anyway).

They want the advertising money and Youtube/Google can't give it out if they don't know which demographics like/dislike their videos.

Youtube looks like ass at anything less then 480p if your going to use it at least go that high.

As Dave said earlier this week, they're going to be redirecting all non-subscribers to their Youtube uploads for all video content in the future. This is to help them lower their bandwidth costs and drive more traffic to the site from Youtube.

People are too sensitive for spoilers. If they freak out at every little thing, why bother to watch the video in the first place?

You all are way too sensitive to think that this is a spoiler. It's also kinda ridiculous to get upset at GB for watching a video of a game if you really are worried about having anything spoiled.

@Moreau_MD: I have to agree that it's pretty shitty for them to upload them at only 360p. I imagine they won't put it up in HD as that is something they'd like to keep behind a paywall but damn, 360P looks like dogshit. If I didn't know what Giantbomb was and I stumbled across them on YouTube I wouldn't even give them a chance. Hey y'all 2006 call and asked for their bitrate back.

Anyone else see the comments rating for the UMVC3 video? Kinda awesome how much hate there is out there.

That's not really of the same significance as posting stupid comments or hacking Youtube channels. I didn't really care for their UMvC3 QL and the ratings are their just so we can see peoples' general opinion on certain videos. There's a reason that particular video is so disliked.

@themangalist: I know that video likes are part of them trying to get more people into the sites, so that won't happen, but comments might be a good way to encourage people to visit the site itself.

People should be able to show their disdain of 360p video.
