Sure sounds like her.
Just watched the trailer for the first time:

Yes, it is the same actress doing the same AI voice for the movie. Guillermo del Toro knows what's up.
It's okay guys, the BWAAAAAAAM is just a handy way of indexing every single movie trailer made in the two-year period after Inception. It's for archival purposes. They did the same thing in the early 2000s with the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, and it increased the nation's trailer watching efficiency by as much as 22%!
That's a savings you can take straight to the bank.
(EDIT: Please don't suck, movie)

Yeaaaah, post-Inception trailers are super dumb. But hey, Del Toro directing giant robot v monster fights featuring Idris Elba seems pretty dope.

More like, Guillermo del Toro fucked up. Why would he do that? It adds nothing to the film and unless they play it up for laughs (which seems bizarre and far-fetched), I'll be thinking every time I hear it: "That's GlaDos... but, like, not funny..." Whatevs.
Otherwise, this movie looks real dumb (in a moderately good way).
@morrowjo: This thread was already made.
That's her alright, it's pretty distracting. It seems like blatant pandering to some Hollywood perception of the "gamer" demographic, especially since there are mechs and giant monsters involved too.
Also, this movie looks fucking dumb. Dumb in a bad way. "Hot garbage," if you will.
I was expecting it to sound kind of like her, but that is pitched exactly like her voice. I hope Valve says something to make them change it because that's dumb. I could see if it was just her normal voice, but the fact that someone had to give the go ahead to apply filters to her vocals to get that makes it all kinds of dumb in my books. It would be like if they applied the breathing filter to every movie James Earl Jones did after Star Wars to make him sound like Vadar.
I love del Toro. I will see this movie. But this is a bit... weird. I know GDT is into games, and I think he talked about Portal specifically at some event he was holding in Toronto, which I attended.

Haha, oh man, thank you. I wish this site had a 'Like" function.
Hmm that bugs me in an out of place kind of way that would pull me out of the movie every time I hear that voice.
And speaking of the movie, this trailer confuses me. Granted this is the only trailer I have seen and its the first time I've heard of this movie, so forgive me if this is just ignorance. How did humans go from getting wrecked by using fairly standard looking military tech to suddenly having giant robots and advanced computer systems which stand toe to toe with them? Did the alien monsters make a no rush 15 minutes agreement with us so we could tech up or were we just dicking around with our inferior tech while the robot pilots were having breakfast?
