Good PC game to play with my dad?

My dad is a bit of a gamer and has often asked me if there's a fantasy-esque game we could play together, some sort of specific co-op questing or something like that. Neither of us are into MMOs or have any experience there, but he likes games like Grimrock and Baldur's Gate and Civilization, apart from his crazy binging on Madden and NCAA Football.

Are there any specific games that would be fun to play with my dad once I get around to building a PC? I was thinking Torchlight II might be a good choice, or possibly Guild Wars. I'm just looking for any suggestions.

Baldur's Gate can be played co-op.

Maybe take a look at Titan Quest. And it's not exactly what you're asking for, but I'd highly recommend Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 (or the sequels, Faces of War / Men of War, etc.)

Lots more options here.

I hate the fact that I don't have an answer for your specific question. Can't think of a single game.. Torchlight 2 sounds like a terrific start though!

All I can do is suggest this website: cooptimus.com

Torchlight 2 is the best thing I can think of.

Well, Trine 2 might be something you could look into. I played the first one and started the second (been too busy to play it more), and enjoyed it well enough. It is an action platformer co-op, so I don't know if from the games you mention if your dad is familiar with the genre, but I think its always fun to introduce someone to something new. The first game also has co-op, but its local only.

It may not be fantasy, but Portal 2 has great co-op. You'd probably want to pester your dad into playing the original first, even though it isn't co-op.

Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2013. It's just as much fantasy as a Diablo game. Trust me.

I also would recommend Titan Quest. Great game with a buddy or two.

Because you mentioned Baldur's Gate, and even though I haven't tried it myself, I believe you can do Neverwinter Nights 2 via co-op. Not sure how well it plays in multiplayer, but I like the singleplayer.

Another good option is Terraria! That game is great for co-op if your into making your own fun.
