I gotta go with CoD4. All these years later, after two direct sequels, a plethora of successors, and an truckload of pretenders, Call of Duty 4 is the only CoD/modern military shooter game that still has a spot on my game shelf. It is just so good.

CoD4, best in the series with a great campaign I played through a dozen times.

I played neither of these, but honestly as much as I dislike the series I think that CoD4 practically defined what this entire generation was and it has my vote based on that.

I'm not happy that it did in the slightest, but I won't actively deny its impact and influence just because I'm a petty jerk.

How can you vote if you have played neither?

Because I can look at them objectively based on their widespread accomplishments? I dunno. It's too late to take it back.

Guys, if Journey doesn't win this, I will officially lose hope in humanity. CoD 4 is great, but ultimately a fairly hollow piece of art. It's a game that clearly has some kind of anti-war message while being a game about shooting lots of dudes. Bonus points to them for trying and for single-handedly changing the face of multiplayer gaming in this gen, but Journey is an all-encompassing work of allegorical magnificence.. It's so deeply profound on so many levels, everything it gets at is universal and fundamental to human experience and to all spiritual viewpoints that I simply can't bring myself to vote for CoD 4 however much fun I had with it.

Don't worry too much about it, I was just wondering how many people are voting in match-ups where they have only played one game, or none or whatever. I bet it is a lot and I wonder if it is skewing the vote at all.

Experience isn't necessary for the human race to form an opinion.

O_______________O

How the fuck is this even a fair matchup? Holy shit. We knew it would get to this eventually, but goddamn.

Call of Duty 4 is responsible for literally the entirety of the first-person shooter market in its current climate.

Journey is responsible for finally being the game that gets video games the serious recognition it deserved...and even swayed me into believing that a game COULD be art.

...................goddammit.

Fuck it. I'm flipping a coin. I can't pick. Heads for CoD4, tails for Journey.

*flipping*

Heads. Fuck.

Go back and play Call of Duty 2, then play 4. Relatively risky move after years of WW2 shooters, I loved CoD 2 and I think it's unfair to base judgement on what happened with the 5 CoD games since but I loved 4 too.

Not like this!!

I love Journey but this one goes to COD4.

It's without a doubt, one of the most influential games of this generation and it was brilliant... Think of how great the multiplayer was... and now remember how amazing "All Ghillied Up" and the campaign in general was. May not rate that highly now after years of iterations and improvements, but it was in a league of its own during its time.

I suggest rematch due to bugged scores.

/excuse for Journey to win

Journey was the game I bought a PS3 for.

Journey was lame as fuck

This is a pretty tight decision for me, but it goes to Cod 4 for obvious reasons.

CoD 4 is one of ReTarDedFisHy's favorite games of all time. It really shaped this/last generation's FPS genre into what it is today. It also brought another level of #mlg720n0sc0pe420blazeit into the community that we still see today (unfortunately).

I chose CoD4 because I had tons of fun playing it.

I don't care about either but fuck Journey for knocking out LBP. I voted for Call of Duty.

Call of Duty 4 wins on influence alone.
