Well I love Metal Gear but I think Dota2 is better than MGS4.

I have Dota 2 in my Steam Library, never touched it. I bought Metal Gear Solid 4 when I bought a PS3 three months ago, never touched it.

MGS 4 has a fist fight between two ageing clones as it's ending set piece. That's more than enough to win this contest.

MGS 4 is the only Metal Gear game I've ever beaten. It's also up against Dota, so it's a pretty easy choice for me.

There is no other game in this bracket I have more pleasure voting against than DOTA 2. And yes, I've played it.

There's some amazing stuff in MGS4 like listening to a podcast about the game using your ingame ipod, that alone gets my vote plus is a pretty good game that still holds up.

Meh I never thought Dota 2 should have been in the running anyway. It's clearly a next gen game since people were upgrading hardware halfway through the console cycle to play it at a solid framerate. The MGS series has always been a mind fuck and part 4 (also Rising) was no exception. I prefer a Solid single player over free prolonged multiplayer any day of the week.

Both of these games represent a bridge or a transition from "the old version" to "the new version". Kind of interesting.

It's fun to hate on games you've never played apparently. I played both and I liked DotA 2 better, I've put 600+ hours into it and will probably keep playing it for another 600.

Because someone prefers MGS4 over a MOBA it means they've never played DotA? That's ridiculous.

This shouldn't be a contest, Metal Gear Solid IV while good isn't even the best Metal Gear. DOTA 2 is the best MOBA ever made.

I have a hard time liking things "ironically", and I care about good writing, so I could in no way ever vote for a MGS game.

I find MGS4 disappointing, but holy shit MGO was amazing.

I like both games, but that tanker fight is just too good. When it cuts to the Snake Eater theme I almost fell off my couch.

Oh, and I've played DOTA 2. That game is shit. Utter, utter shit.

I didn't vote FOR MGS4 as much as I voted AGAINST DOTA2, yes I'm that kind of voter.

I know fans love Dota2, but seriously, it's a FREEEEEEEE GAME with awesome community functionality. But then the community is a horrible void of screaming children where you have to play nice with them, and you can't just hit things on your own. It punishes you for not paying attention the micro small text chat and it punishes you for not even thinking for yourself. Seriously this whole Genre has a long time before it's ready to be playable.

MGS4 has old dudes stabbing each other in the neck. And this is the AMERICA THEME

yes it has horrible narrative problems "Nanomachines son," but still it's an experience of an out dated piece of tech trying to keep up with Next Gen it's a very fitting example of where Metal Gear fits in this whole industry.

I would have picked MGS if it was Snake Eater but 4 is poop, narratively and gameplay wise.

Dota, on the other hand, created an entirely new genre. How can that not instantly be game of the generation?? Don't let a small part of the dark side of dota community cloud your judgement.

Well, I mean. For one thing, Dota 2 didn't create a new genre. DotA may have but you can't just reward a sequel based on the accomplishments of it's predecessor. I have nothing against Dota 2 but I'm voting for MGS4 because I really liked MGS4.

The worst Metal Gear Solid game vs. that sweet, sweet, podcast hogging Dota 2.

Now if this was Metal Gear Solid 1, or Snake Eater, I would have to sway away from Dota.

Dota2 is Dota1. They're both the same game that share the same heroes, balance tweaks and hero updates. Though as mentioned by some people already, these GotG match ups are kinda weird. We're comparing a mainly single-player focused game against a mainly multi-player focused game.

This is my hardest choice: I mean, MGS4 is pretty crazy and that's what I love about MGS. But it's no MGS3. And Dota2 is well... Dota, so there goes my vote.
