Jeff - ME2
Drew - Halo:Reach
Ryan - Toss-up Civilization 5 or Game Room
Vinnie - RDR with special mention of Train, and Farm simulation
Alex - Kirby's Epic Yarn, or Super Galaxy 2 could be a tie
Brad - Starcraft 2
Personally, RDR though if including DLC ME2 is my choice.
Guess the Bomb Crew's GOTY
I have a feeling that Brad will definitely have Starcraft 2 near the top of his list, but won't be pushing really hard for it to win. I think Ryan's vote is for sure ME2 probably Jeff's too.
2010 Game of the Year will probably come down to Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Red Dead Redemption, and(just because of Brad) Starcraft 2. I fully believe that Mass Effect should take it.
2010's 2009 Game of the Year - I'll be damned if this one doesn't go to Borderlands.
More importantly though guys, we need to figure out which game gets the prestigious Northie this year!

Brad - we already know
Ryan - Civ 5
Jeff - ME2 or SSFIV if he feels it isn't cheap to call it a 2010 game
Vinnie - ME2, RDR, ACB? i dont really know

I find it crazy and kinda a joke that for a site that had absolutely no coverage of the game, that RDR could take anything (my personal opinions of the game aside, that it doesn't deserve a darn thing regardless).
Jeff really liked New Vegas, right?

Well, considering Silent Hill SH was their Wii game last year, with only Brad having played it and he had to spoil it for everyone on the very show they were discussing awards for ti to be picked by all, pretty much tells you this is all just silly fun, if not a straight up farce.
As long as it's not Dead Rising 2, Galaxy 2, New Vegas, Broterhood, or Bioshock 2
Pretty good games and all, but god, this year has been so lazy for games. Using the same gameplay, same engine, same assets.
I think depending on how they classify ME2 (make it compete in the Multi-Platform or X-Box category) would have a HUGE affect on how this years GotY plays out. Specifically, if it has to go up against ACB and Red Dead in multi-platform and ends up winning out of there (which would be a tough conversation), I think that it has a much easier time once it comes to final game consideration, as Starcraft 2 got some very intense love on occasion but never had the entire crew buzzing in the same way that ME2 did.
Granted, that is all assuming that the GotY stuff is similar to how they did it last year; I'm skeptical/curious though, because Jeff made a recent tweet that suggested they might be shaking up how they actually do the GotY stuff significantly.
Mass Effect 2 seems like the obvious choice. I just hope we get another ridiculously long GOTY podcast with the guys arguing over the year's best games.
Jeff - SSFIV
Brad - Red Dead Redemption or Starcraft II
Vinny - Red Dead Redemption or Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Ryan - Civilization V or Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Overall game of the year will be between three titles.
Mass Effect 2
Red Dead Redemption
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Don't ask me what Dave, Drew, or Alex will pick for game of the year. They haven't been on the podcast enough. However, if I had to guess...
Dave - Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Drew - Halo: Reach or Mass Effect 2
Alex - Kirby's Epic Yarn
I seriously doubt Jeff is gonna push for SSFIV as GOTY. It's a re-release - essentially a GOTY edition of SFIV all by itself. While he does like the game, I think he has more sense than to push for it as overall game of the year, and I doubt he really considers it the overall best game of the year. Otherwise, all the other guesses seem spot on.
Mass Effect or RDR, I think Mass Effect deserves it after all the DLC, Lair of the Shadow Broker was amazing.. I could see some crazy Star Craft of Civ dark horse though. SSFVI won't get it as it basically came out last year, and i think ACB will loose out as it is just more of ACII, there wasn't much tech improvements.
This guess was brought to you by Energizer. It keeps going, and going, and going..." I think they will all pick Alan Wake, the only true GOTY contender. "
I'm feeling Mass Effect 2.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has made a pretty convincing "surprise" entry for me and a lot of others..
StarCraft 2 obviously deserves a strange but excellent distinction that I'm not sure falls directly into GOTY category.
...has Red Dead Redemption been passed for GiantBomb's GOTY consideration?
Did vinny really enjoy RDR better than ME2? The man has an S rank in ME2 which im assuming wasn't easy. Didn't he play it on normal and then do it again on the hardest level to get the achievement.
If they go by the same formula of next year, I guess:
PC - Starcraft 2
Wii- Super Mario Galaxy 2
PS3 only - Heavy Rain
X360 only - Limbo
and Multi-platform being an hour and a half long discussion with Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Rock Band 3, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and Super Meat Boy. In the end I guess they'l pick ME2 for multiplat and overall GotY.
It better be Mass Effect 2, because I can only see them picking that or Red Dead, which I thought was a boring game.
For downloadable games, I see it coming down to Super Meat Boy or Limbo. Here's hoping for Super Meat Boy.
Mass Effect 2, followed closely by RDR.
Didn't Brad say RDR was his GOTY, even after Starcraft 2 was released?

They ran into the issue last year with Modern Warfare 2. It was a better game--by their standards, now, I'm not inserting my opinion here--than some of the platform-specific titles, but it got snubbed because of the stiff multi-platform competition. Which seems counter-productive, to me. Like, if we're having a discussion about the best games of the year, why aren't we talking about the best games of the year, regardless of platform. Sure, Shadow Complex was great and all. But . . . I mean, come on.
And if that's their angle for this year again, then yeah, like you say, Mass Effect 2 could get smothered. When, really, that game deserves some serious recognition.
