I tried it with Pokemon Diamond but never bothered getting it to work as my router at the time wasn't advanced enough to handle it (oh god, that was a shitty router). I've never even considered doing it on any other game or even the Wii itself. So pointless.
Have you successfully utilized Nintendo's Friend Code system?
It's counter intuitive, yes, but I don't see how it can fail to actually function. You add your friend. He adds you. You're good to go. Where's the issue?
And yes, games have their own codes. That's what's counter intuitive about it. Otherwise it would still be more of a hassle than usual but just fine.
Yup, I have. There are in fact 3 people on this board that have successfully exchanged codes with me. It's horrible, extremely horrible, but it can get the job done.
Now someone explain to my how it is possible that the poll just now showed me 50% "yes" and 50% "no" with 3 votes cast.
Yeah, I've used it, but it's a major pain in the butt. It's pretty much unacceptable these days. I can understand the security issue of needing to exchange friend codes at first, however, once you do that I think you should have contact with that person across all games. Needing to enter a main friend code for messaging, and a new friend code for every single game you play? That's moronic.
I can understand what Nintendo was going for with the Friend Code System but in reality it makes almost all online games completely unmanageable. I have only one friend and that is my former college roommate.
