So I dug out my old MS sidewinder in anticipation for the free release of  MechWarrior 4 that brought back some memories about an Apache game.
I cant remember what the full name of the game was only that the word Apache was in the title.

That got me thinking does anyone know of any good helicopter games for the pc?
also a recommendation for a new joystick would be nice.

Sure you're not thinking of Comanche? There are a bunch of games with that in the title. Mostly old PC simulators I think. Theres only a couple games with Apache in the title I think.

I used to play this apache game with a joystick too..That game was hard because it never told you what your mission objective was >_>

@The_A_Drain: I might have had that game also but i am positive i also had a game with Apache in title. I played alot of flight sims and mech games back in the Win95/98 era.

@TheMustacheHero: god yes those games were hard I think that is what made them so fun.

I just found Comanche 4 now i have to find so game play videos.

Joystick and Throttle combined: (budget) Saitek Cyborg Evo

Joystick and Throttle Stick HOTAS configuration: (expensive) Saitek x52 Pro

Helicopter Sim: DCS: Black Shark

And i think you are thinking about Jane's AH64D Longbow (2) maybe? Which, in that case, was the best heli sim for its time. Or apache vs hokum, which was mediocre.

@warxsnake: What about Saitek x52 (reg) ,do you consider that a good mid-level Joystick and Throttle combination?

I checked out videos of DCS: Black Shark and Dam! I've been out of the loop for a long time. That is a little too much detail control wise.
