I am here to express my sincere indignity and appall towards those involved in the relentless attack of one of our own from [url=http://forums.gametrailers.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1341424]GT Forumz[/url]. I want to start by saying that I have never heard of your site, nor care if this account is banned: as I'm not in any sense inclined explore or take part of this community.

What I do wish to get through in my post is that the egotism and dictatorship of the staff taking part in the strategy of oppression by attrition against our beloved and well thought of member Hossby is not only wrong but naive. In these hard times of financial degradation, having a paying member of a site and forum which any old Joe like me can be part off for free, be permanently banned is nothing short of retardation.

I am displeased with the interwebs that such places like these still exist, where power hungry member work against the community instead of being peers and protectors of expression. But I am comforted by the idea that great moderators and excellent staff with a broad range of members still exist in GT Forumz. I will make sure that on my nightly prayer I add this community to my thoughts and hope that the bad apples are swept away before they spoil the entire site

So, we have rules against multiple accounts. They probably thought his "roommates" accounts were falsified and were really just him again.

Also, most of us manage to have fun here and not get into trouble, including several people who do complain about the community or the staff. I'll point out the "Fuck Ryan Davis" shirt was Jeff's design, AKA Ryan's cohost and friend who drives to work with him every morning. It's very different when a friend cusses about you and when a random jerk on the internet does it.

I'm not gonna write much more because I have a feeling this thread will get locked too. But it's not an attack, Hossby seems like an okay guy, but he didn't know where the boundaries were.

Sense of entitlement. Get over it. People get banned for being stupid. It happens everywhere.

God, I hate the internet sometimes.

I've been an active member here for a year and a half. This is easily the least hostile community of duders I've ever seen. Sounds like your friend had to have broken a rule laid out by the moderators and staff. Also using words like "retardation" takes away any respectful credibility your post has.

Paying is not a license to be an asshole.

On the subject of roommate accounts, my brother and I both live in the same house and both have accounts here, and have for a while now, and neither of us have been banned yet, so I don't think the mods ban somebody if they know that two people use the same IP address.

As for the particular issue at hand, I urge the OP to either use simpler words or better articulate himself. I don't know what the fuck he's talking about.

And, for some anecdotal comparisons, I was banned from The Escapist for too short a post. Now, granted, I had not always behaved well there, but generally I was all right. And I was banned for a short post. Anytime a mod has contacted me here, it has been for a decent reason. This fellow, Hossby, he sounds like he didn't know how to handle anything with any tact whatsoever.

Getting permanently banned from this site is fucking hard. As long as you follow the #1 rule, don't be a dick, you're going to be just fine here. This was apparently too much responsibility for this guy.

@believer258: Oh, yeah, it's not just IP address = ban. They understand you're gonna show it to your brother/roommate/whatever. It's more that he had ALREADY created an alt account, been banned for an alt account, and then had his roommate come to complain that makes me go "wait, you SURE the roommate was a separate individual?"

For example, not sure if Noodless is actually a GT user whining or if he's just Hossby again.

We don't need any silly site/forum wars over a banned user, nor do we publicly discuss the details of our moderation of users on Giant Bomb. Therefore, there's nothing to be discussed here.

Leave such unnecessary drama elsewhere, please.
