I just bought a bunch of cheap PSN cards, and I've been looking through rereleases on the store.  To be clear, I am only looking to buy rereleases, and not any PSN exclusives or newer games.

Also, I'd rather not buy games that have been rereleased on platforms superior to the PSN, or that received bad port jobs, or whatever. Here are some that look interesting:

$05.99 Dino Crisis
$05.99 Dino Crisis 2
$09.99 Final Fantasy VII
$09.99 Final Fantasy VIII
$09.99 Final Fantasy IX
$05.99 Front Mission 3
$05.99 Legend of Mana
$09.99 Metal Gear Solid
$05.99 Parasite Eve
$09.99 Resident Evil Director's Cut
$05.99 Resident Evil 2
$05.99 Resident Evil 3
$05.99 Silent Hill
$05.99 Suikoden
$05.99 Vagrant Story
$09.99 Xenogears

$45.56 to $65.56 available

Recommendations, including games not listed here, are appreciated, and will be responded too. Thanks!

Out of those, Xenogears, Suikoden, and Silent Hill. Maybe Parasite Eve if you have anything left over.

@VelvetLore04: I should have about $45 on my account. Also, my choices aren't necessarily limited to that list; I'm just only looking for rereleases, and those are the only ones I've heard decent things about (I already own Symphony of the Night).

RE 2 is amazing. Silent Hill as well. Vagrant Story and Xenogears i've never played but have Physical copies on my shelf. I've heard great things about them as well.

Twisted Metal 2 and Final Fantasy 9 are good pickups as well.

I would say Resident Evil 2. And I've heard good things about Dino Crisis 2. Although unfortunately, outside of Final Fantasy IX and Resident Evil 2, I haven't played any of the other games.

I definitely recommend Xenogears. It is fairly lengthy and kind of goes into 'look at us quoting the Bible ha ha now let's get philosophical' but damn if it isn't awesome to play as a kung fu fighting robot sometimes. Though the second part is infinitely weaker than the first. Out of those FF games, 9 would be the first I'd suggest as well. But hey, I stand by my Xenogears ad Silent Hill and Suikoden picks.

If you want to experience some Final Fantasy, I highly recommend VI over the other ones. Yes, VII gets all the nostalgia love, but VI is better, trust me. And while the PS1 graphics of VII look weirdly dated, the SNES graphics on VI are really something. Those little pixelated sprites are totally awesome.

@SethPhotopoulos: I was thinking of getting MGS1 on the GBC, because I think it's a sorta 'improved' edition. Edit: Actually, I'm probably incorrect.

@slantedwindows
: I am not looking for any newer games. Also, my PS+ free trial ran out a little while ago.

@gkhan
: Yeah, I really loved VI. I played through it on the GBA. IV was great, too.

I bought Legend of Mana yesterday and I'm having a lot of fun with it. The music's as good as I remember it being almost a decade ago.

@punpun: Do you know if Legend of Mana has been remade since its release? I don't see anything here: Wikipedia so that's probably the only version.

@iDarktread: Yeah, I don't think so. I'd be all over a Legend of Mana remake though. Maybe.

also wow, I knew about Secret of Mana, but I had no idea so many other Mana games existed.

grab suikoden for sure. i hope some day sony will put suikoden 2 on there eventually. i have both of them on disk but i like the option of just having them right there on my system to play whenever(usually my games i try to play fully each year).

I can absolutely say that Suikoden, since it's on your list, is well worth the $5.99. If Money Idol Exchanger was still at $3.00, I'd recommend that for the Bonbcast in-joke (and it's actually not a bad time waster) but not for $5.99 when there's better stuff out there for the price.

Okay, sorta thinking of

$09.99 Metal Gear Solid
$05.99 Parasite Eve
$05.99 Resident Evil 2
$05.99 Silent Hill
$05.99 Suikoden
$05.99 Vagrant Story
$09.99 Xenogears

which, in total, come out to $49.93, which is $04.37 over.

But wasn't Dino Crisis or Dino Crisis 2 supposed to be good? What about this Vagrant Story? Wasn't that some fantastic game?

I'd definitely recommend Suikoden, Legend of Mana, and Xenogears.  I really enjoyed those games, especially Suikoden.    And, I know this mainly seems to be about PS1 classics, but I'm gonna mention Beyond Good and Evil HD, anyways.  It's not in the PS1 classics thing, but it is technically a re-release.

About Vagrant Story...a lot of people love that game.  I was sorta indifferent about it....something just never hit me right with it or something.

@metalhead87: I've got BG&EHD on 360 already, and I've enjoyed what I've played so far.

So you're thinking Legend of Mana, too? What did you like about it? I don't think I've ever played a Mana game, but I'm going to pick up Final Fantasy Adventure on the GB sorta soon.

$05.99 Dino Crisis
$05.99 Dino Crisis 2
$05.99 Front Mission 3

$05.99 Resident Evil 2
$05.99 Silent Hill
$05.99 Suikoden
$05.99 Vagrant Story
$09.99 Xenogears

I've decided to remove the Final Fantasy games from my list, for now, as I'm a little burnt out on them at the moment. Is Resident Evil 2 the 'best' one on PSN right now? Resident Evil Director's Cut and 3 are the other two currently available.

@iDarktread: Vagrant Story was interesting. It's turn-based, but there are a lot of timing/reaction-based game mechanics that are absolutely instrumental in the game. It's also not very forgiving as far as these mechanics go, so it's hard as shit. I really enjoyed the portion of it I played, but I didn't finish it because I'm prone to quit whenever I have to repeat segments of a game many times because I keep getting ganked ( and getting ganked is core to the Vagrant Story experience). If you're more patient than me, though, I'd say it's probably worth it.

Alrighty, as long as you've played it, that's good enough for me.   As for Legend of Mana.   It's been so long since I have played it, I can't really remember a lot of specifics on it.  Haven't got it off of PSN, yet.....Last time I played it was when it first came out.   I just know that I liked it a lot, sorry I can't be of more help on it.

Yeah, it's an awesome turn based RPG. It has an INSANE amount of gameplay in it. With two different stories.

Decided against $9.99 Metal Gear Solid, because this "same version was included as a component of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PlayStation 2," and am going to stay away from Final Fantasy VII-IX for now, simply because I want to play something other than Final Fantasy. If I do end up getting a Final Fantasy game on the PSN, it will probably be IX.

Am I missing anything? Should get more than just Resident Evil 2?

Thanks so much!

Edit: Just bought...

$05.99 Dino Crisis
$05.99 Dino Crisis 2
$05.99 Resident Evil 2
$09.99 Xenogears

and I'm now thinking about...

$05.99 Front Mission 3
$09.99 Grandia
$05.99 Legend of Mana
$05.99 Parasite Eve (Looking to find some users that really enjoyed Parasite Eve before I buy it.)
$05.99 Silent Hill
$05.99 Suikoden (Saw something online about a probably Japan-only Suikoden I + II PSP release, and am going to hold off buying it on PSN until I find out more.)
$05.99 Vagrant Story

Probably have close to $40 left.
