OK, you win. Membership acquired.

Why not, instead of paying 60 bucks by using the monthly model, I save about half on the sale.

So... we in there?

#203 Posted by h0lgr (908 posts) -

@Ali_D: Good luck, man. It's hell out there, but I'm absolutely sure you will find something!

I am sure when Jeff is riding around in his 50K suped up Dodge Challenger, you will feel good about what you did to help the site.

Of course i will, who gives a shit what Jeff spends his money on? Also: people saying 'i'll buy it for 10/20' just.. don't.

I don't get these complaints...

1: They worked their asses off creating this - working more hours than most of us - why are they not allowed to get something out of all this?

2: Giantbomb is about the most un-biased gaming site I have been on, and if that alone is not worth something to you - well by all means go over to Gamespot and IGN.

3: I got zero commercials on my screen when I visit GB (and all the other rad WM sites) - and that alone is worth the measly 35$ to me.

What you guys need to understand is that this is business. Plain and simple. Do they put out stuff that is worth 50 bucks a year or 35 now? No, not to me. And a lot of other people feel the same way. I have bills to pay. And living with sit n sleep ad at the top of the site and not seeing some weird PC game is ok with me. Point is that "Support the Site!" sounds like a fund raising thing. Sure they deserve to get something for what they worked hard on, but if they don't put something out there that is worth what I think is my money, isn't that my choice? Telling me to go to another site is stupid and a moot argument. We are here because we like it but if were are willing to pay for it is a different argument. And guess what, I am here because this is one of the most biased sites on the web. Listen to the bombcast. Quicklooks. It is about personal preference. If this site were unbiased it might be a little more professional and you wouldn't see people like Alex pissing off half the audience of this site. And again, not seeing ads is not worth 35 bucks to me. In fact, I doubt I would put my credit card info in if it were just a dollar. I could buy a bag of chips and that bag of chips is worth more to me than not seeing ads on this site for a year. Why? Because that is the way business works. However, there are those who would pay and I won't bash them. Just please, no more of the "Support the site". Just cause I like these guys doesn't mean I will give them money. They obviously give you something you are willing to pay for and that is great. Business again.

Holy shit I missed this sale by day!? This sort of thing has happend to me twice this week! Ass-Creed:Revelations went on sale for $40 the day after I bought it at full price. I'm still happy with what I bought, but it would have been nice to save a little bit of $$$.

#206 Posted by Hizang (8532 posts) -

I enjoy supporting this site every time I can, more money into Giant Bomb means more reason to provide better content.

#207 Posted by MisterMouse (3554 posts) -

I am on till 2013! screw the end of the world.

#208 Posted by theuselessgod (319 posts) -

I bought it.

Worth it for the most recent Random PC Game.

And the Jars are pretty good too.

No regrets.

#209 Posted by Djratchet (669 posts) -

I'd rather pay full price come renewal time and get another shirt, lol

What about the people who purchased a membership last week when it was still $50? I'm assuming we're just "crap out of luck"?

Those purchasing a membership through this sale don't receive a t-shirt coupon.

Thanks for the polite answer, that seems fair to me. I'll take the $15 coupon.

Welcome to the world. Things go on sale after you buy them. Things go on sale before you buy them. Things generally go on sale.

Take a note from the guy above, be polite with your answer. There was absolutely no need for your comment.

#215 Posted by EvilBuddyHolly (25 posts) -

Super thanks for this deal! This is what got me to buy one! Thanks again!!!!

#216 Posted by Hilts (258 posts) -

A web site would have to work real hard and offer me a unique experience to justify $35 or more a year. These guys do it!

#217 Posted by SeattleOriginal (14 posts) -

Thank you!! You took my money and I am very happy about it.

#218 Posted by Village_Guy (2579 posts) -

If I had the money to support you guys with a membership, then I would rather pay full price ;D

#219 Posted by tophernav (49 posts) -

Fine, take my money!

#220 Posted by blueneurosis (98 posts) -

Thanks for the sale. I finally took the plunge and even posted it to a few of my gamer pals. The quicklooks are pretty invaluable in making clear if we should spring for any given game. Plus, I'm going to be in a internet free environment for xmas, so being able to carry along a few of the Random PC Game vids will help ease the pain.

Seeing Brad in a wizard outfit was enough to convince me to add time to my current subscription.

I subscribed, and it was great.

#223 Posted by Alpha3KV (7 posts) -

Just got one. It was well worth it.

#224 Posted by chriscalla (66 posts) -

I went premium...happy holidays, everyone!

#225 Posted by BlueJester (39 posts) -

How is this related to roberta williams?

Online
#226 Posted by BSw (252 posts) -

For that price, I'll give it a shot. The regular videos are awesome and by far the most entertaining content the internet has brought me in years, let's see if the premium content adds anything to that experience.

#227 Posted by LP3 (15 posts) -

Re-upped through October 2013, don't fail me bomb crew.

#228 Posted by plaintomato (599 posts) -

Isn't this the kind of thing that always pisses off Nintendo fans? I mean, are you going to credit the difference back to everyone who already bought the membership? C'mon early adopters, Occupy Front Street!

#229 Posted by cyraxible (688 posts) -

@BlueJester: She wrote Phantasmagoria which was the last Random PC Game Dave and Vinny did.

#230 Posted by Kerned (1170 posts) -

This was the easiest $35 decision I have ever made.

#231 Posted by JayHayabusa (149 posts) -

Reupped through September 2013!! An extra year of silliness!!!

#232 Posted by fetchfox (1268 posts) -

@Branthog: Followed your advice mate, thanks for the tip!

#233 Posted by Zyte (178 posts) -

Oh my god, YES! I was planning on buying my first annual pass for Christmas anyway! :D

#234 Posted by TruthTellah (9122 posts) -

Once I have a little Christmas money, I am all over this. :)

#235 Posted by Einherjar (71 posts) -

The funny thing here is that I would totally buy a premium membership, if it weren't for the fact that I can barely keep up with the sheer amount of free content!

#236 Posted by thegame696911 (3 posts) -

Bought mine, Thank You for the content guys I've enjoyed it since the beginning and I think it's about time I show my support

#237 Posted by Gizmo (5389 posts) -

Decided today that i'll be getting a subscription with any spare Christmas money.

"B-B-But Alex was mean to us when we told him he's an annoying asshole that should be fired. D':"

Jeff or Ryan would also tell you that nobody at WM gives a shit that people complain about Alex or Kessler or anybody else. Why should they? It's their site, they can run it how they want. Also, "half the audience" is a maaaaajor exaggeration. A vocal minority, maybe.

And I do feel good about supporting what I consider the best gaming site out there, thanks. If Jeff wants to spend that money on a nice car or $200 Star Trek online subscriptions, who cares? I'm supporting everyone that works there, not just Jeff.

To use your own smug, condescending line... What you don't seem to get is this is a business. And this is the business model they've chosen. Just because you disagree with it doesn't make it bad business.

Oh, and Support The Site™.

#240 Posted by Atomicvideohead (43 posts) -

#241 Posted by Slezak (12 posts) -

I doubt he'll ever see this, but thanks Dad for paying for this for me! It was hard to convince him because I wasn't getting any actual games out of it, but I really do appreciate it and I really hope it's worth it. Merry Christmas, everyone!

#242 Posted by TruthTellah (9122 posts) -

I am so happy to finally be able to afford upgrading to a Premium account and support you this year. I love the work you all are doing here, and I hope 2012 will be the best year for Giant Bomb yet! :)

Merry Christmas and God bless the Giant Bomb crew!

#243 Posted by nsolo1717 (24 posts) -

Been lurking GB and listening to the podcasts for the longest. This sale definitely pushed me over the edge, Much appreciated fellas. Keep up the good work and enjoy your holidays

#244 Posted by KaneRobot (1615 posts) -

No money to spend on this. Maybe next year.

#245 Posted by Kosikutioner (36 posts) -

Hmmm I can maybe get one to extend my current membership? What a deal!

#246 Posted by Rastopher (35 posts) -

I've been considering getting a membership for a while and this was the final nudge that made me go for it! Thanks for the sweet hookup!

#247 Posted by nutter (122 posts) -

I've been with you guys since you were discussion Tiger Woods Gatoraid over skype, but kids and a junk economy have kept me from paying beyond some ad clicking.

Thanks for the deal, it's a smart move that should pay off!

#248 Posted by wild_fire987 (50 posts) -

I got stuck working on Christmas today and used the sale as an excuse to get a present for myself! Thanks for the deal!

#249 Posted by Maiko (13 posts) -

I gave in and paid for a membership. I use GB and Tested way too much and I love the casts of both sites too much to avoid a fantastic £22 membership.

On the up side, I just made £90 profit gambling online. Hurrah!
