Horde Mode?

So I was just watching some Starship Troopers and it really got me in the mood to play some horde mode. Thing is, the last one I played was GoW3 and I'd be shocked if those servers weren't dead. What's the best game out right now with such a mode and a decent playerbase?

Killing Floor? It's all horde mode and is on sale right now for 5 bucks.

Crazily Enough the "Invasion," mode in UT99 is still going strong. I was just playing a few rounds last weekend and I didn't have any troubles finding a server.

I bet that you could still find a horde mode match in Gears 3.

Titanfall recently added a pretty decent horde mode.

TF2 has a horde mode and is free.

Maybe PvZ: Garden Warfare?

I don't think it's very good, but it's an option I guess.

Do people still play the ME3 horde mode? If they do thats a pretty good one.

I know the PS3 version of Warhammer 40k: Space Marine has people still playing the horde mode, since my buddy played it a few weeks ago and got into a game. Not sure about the PC version.

The best horde modes I've played were Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode, Halo: Reach's Firefight, and Gears of War 3's horde mode.

Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, the Starcraft: Brood War Used Map Settings map for Starship Troopers.

I actually booted up Gears 3 a few weeks ago and matchmade into a horde game almost immediately. Pleasantly surprised!

Halo Reach's firefight is by far my favourite. I hope MS releases a HD version soon.

Killingy floor is a game devoted to horde mode, Its pretty good!

Thanks for the recommendations! Sorry to hear there aren't more unknowns in the genre what with the whole surge of indie games. I tried Killing Floor - I don't love its style but it's not bad. I might not felt great about spending $20, but $5 is okay.

My favorite is Halo Reach.

Yeah I think it's been somehow a bit neglected. We hear about how often it's done but it's usually done kind of half assed. I've expected and wanted more games that focus on just the genre.
