I'm not too techno-smart. I know it's possible but how do you do it??
How do I play my PS3 on a computer monitor?
You get a compatible cable and you stick one end in your PS3 and another in your monitor and then some pseudo-science magic happens and pictures appear.
Use a DVI, HDMI, or VGA cable depending on your monitor.
" You get a compatible cable and you stick one end in your 360 and another in your monitor and then some pseudo-science magic happens and pictures appear. "Wow, I had no idea connecting your PS3 into a monitor turns it into a 360. That is magic.
Dammit, my 360 fanboy is showing. That's how much better the 360 is, 360 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS3, because the 360 hooks straight up to your monitor without cables." @Keyser_Soze said:

HDCP* But other than that, I agree with this post." The easiest way is to get a monitor that has an HDMI input that supports HDC. Then just connect the PS3 via HDMI. If your monitor doesn't have an HDMI input you can buy an HDMI to DVI converter and you should be set. Hope that helps. "
Well, if your video card has DVI then you need an HDMI to DVI cable ,if your PC's video card only has VGA then you need an HDMI to VGA cable .As for sound, you can use the optical audio out to a surround system (seperate or pc), if not then you'll need to use the red and white cables that came with your PS3 (the yeallow, red and white, you just won't use the yellow). You'll need your PS3 to be version 3.00 in order to do it the last way though.
You only need the monitor. Plug something like this into the DVI port on your monitor and connect with an HDMI cable. Hopefully your monitor doesn't stretch the image like Jimbo seems to imply." Can't I just hook it up to the monitor or do I need the PC with the monitor? "

Hmmmmm. I never knew that, I should try that sometime.
