I say, "S-ness." As in, "the property of S."
How do you say SNES?
I usually spell it out. I don't know why. But it seems like the majority would say suhness.
the property of S is just weird tho lol like es-ness right? ya weird
Yep, it's es-ness. That's sort of why the Genesis was as successful as it was: a word like that automatically beats anything having the properties of S :P.
My option isn't listed I always say Super Nintendo Chalmers. Now if you'll excuse me I bent my wookie.
I have always said "Super Nintendo." After hearing the GB staff say Sness, though, I might just start that. It's a lot quicker.
" I usually go with Sness if I'm talking to people that know what that is. Otherwise, it's Super Nintendo. "Exactly.
Snezz.
I found it very surprising when I begun listening to so many gaming podcasts/shows pronounce it S.N.E.S.
What's the point of an acryonym if it takes longer to say?
if someone said sennessssss, i'll probally say bless you. I just say it like S, N E S
It's an acronymn, it's more for typing than saying imo, if I say it, I would say super nintendo, it's not difficult to say and it doesn't take alot of time.
"Snes" is actually a word in the Norwegian dictionary, so it is natural for me to pronounce it like the word. Surely all acronyms should be pronounced like words if possible? Isn't that the whole point of titles like GRAW and so on? Obviously titles like ODST wouldn't work, which is why I think it should be up to each person to decide if they want to pronounce it like a word or not, and nobody should be mocked for it.
You know what, looking over my last reply I feel different now.
From now on I'll say Suhh-ness just to make everyone look at me weird =D
I chose suh-ness as its the closest, but i pronounce it snes with estonian pronounciation,it sounds a lot different than the common accent pronounciation,as the estonian language doesnt have much of a change in pronounciation. So i pronounce it as a word but it doesnt sound anything even close to suh-ness.
