How important are GB's Game of the Year Awards to you?
The stupid categories are the only ones that interest me for a chuckle. Other than that, they count as much as any other media outlets. Wake me when it's over.

I pick E. Extremely entertaining and enjoyable to listen to but not really 'important' to me.

I second this pick, seriously confused how this isn't an option on this poll.
Yep. I bet most people pick this option.
Very funny poll options, none of which the majority of users would say. I like them a lot, but it matters little to what games I buy. I just like lists.
So I said A.
Option C seems the most appropriate with the GB's back and forth squabble on what claims first prize. It will definitely be hard one this year as there is no Skyrim to fall back on and also it just seems like there were a lot of AAA on the same level of enjoyment.
Actual awards don't matter at all to me, but them having an entertaining and interesting discussion about them is definitely an excellent diversion.
I like the GOTY discussions because that's the only time of the year when the crew actually dig into why they like or dislike a game. Fuck spoilers, they're going to tell you exactly what they think.
It's actually kind of annoying that they only do it for one week in December.

I was looking for a similar option. It's a lot of really involved content and mostly reminds me of games I've missed out on or forgot about during the year.

It's something that I look forward to in an entertainment sense. I don't agree with some GOTY choices and most discussions on the bombcast so I don't value it that much on a which game is the best sense. With the FMV stuff from last year things can only get more crazy(hopefully).

Also, they're only "important" in that I was kinda mad at Brad and Ryan over Skyrim because they both had bad arguments. The only year where I felt that way.

Unimportant. I rarely agree with their opinions on games and due to how backlogged I am I probably won't listen to the spoiler filled podcasts. I also didn't find last year's "debates" particularly entertaining.
I do quite enjoy their personal top ten lists though.
I don't care who/what wins, but I do like the discussions. I've already BOUGHT the game for this year by the point, "who or what" wins is not much of a factor in what I buy. Moreover, by late January or early February there will be a more game coming out...so there is no time for second thoughts. I just like the 'wrap up' discussions.

This. I like to hear the discussion but I could care less what they actually pick cause honestly I think they are crazy they've outright hated on a lot of the games that I've really really enjoyed this year like Max Payne 3. Honestly I'm almost not that excited this year because I know its gonna be The Walking Dead isn't it? Not saying its a bad game just saying I think it gets too much attention....

I think Brad might filibuster his way into a Mass Effect 3 win, honestly. All he has to do is be willing to stay put and argue the same points for a couple hours and the rest of the crew will throw their hands up eventually.
I want to see how long Ryan and Vinny/Patrick might hold on Xcom and Sleeping Dogs (respectively) to push them up the top 10 list. Also I have a feeling Downloadable Game will be the longest segment as I dont think Brad will give up on Dust and I dont think people will let him push Journey aside. So yea, I like the entertainment value mostly for a dull week of refreshing the steam client for flash sales.

@Demoskinos: They were, all of the ME3 talk before the die-hards (like me) hit the ending was all positive and there were rumblings of GOTY noms from us.
I say this as a person who frequents the Bioware boards, mind you. We were heavily impressed by ME3, and then the ending.
And that's what has dominated the conversation since its release. The game is great, but that ending. Man Tuchanka is a cathartic way to cap off the Genophage arc, but the ending. The Rannoch arc can't end in any good way unless you made very specific choices in the previous two games, but that ending. I love how tense and unrelenting the Reaper threat is in ME3, but that ending.
With Brad having experienced the game via the Leviathan DLC as well as the Extended Cut, he has an understanding and appreciation for the way ME3 wraps up the trilogy that we all wish we could've had. I've gone back and played the game with the EC, and yeah, it's healed that gnarly wound. I'm okay with ME3 winning awards now.
