For those who had/have all 3 of course.
2009 was the year I had finally picked up my ps3 to complete the holy trinity. I imagine i'll do the same in a few years time.
This is the first year I've had all major consoles at launch. Last gen I got my Wii and 360 day one. PS3 was January or February after, because god damn that $600 price tag.
I saw no need to buy a wii last gen and I didn't see a compelling reason to get a 360 either. I thought about it but couldn't justify it.
I got a 360 about a year after launch, a PS3 shortly before Uncharted 2, and a Wii about 2 years ago. This generation, I got a Wii U less than a month ago. I'll get a PS4 once inFamous comes out, since I already know I'll need it for the next Uncharted. I'm waiting for something to convince to get an Xbox One, so it may be a year or two after its launch.
Bought a 360 and Wii on launch day. PS3 about a month after it came out.
Got my PS4 and will most likely get a Xbox One when Titanfall drops.
ps3 launch day- xbox in 2009.
Never bought a wii or wiiu.
Tempted to grab a wii u this time and use it alongside my ps4 - then pick up a One in a year or two when they are a bit cheaper ^_^
I bought a 360 day one. Bought a PS3 bundle the day MGS4 came out. I got a Wii.... I can't remember when? I think my parents got it for X-Mas but I hardly ever played it so I hardly count that.
I got my ps3 about 4-5 months after it came out (first console I bought for myself). I got a 360 in like August or September of that year. I wanted to play Lost Odyssey. I got my Wii as a birthday present to myself in 2011. I was able to wait on that one since my friends all had one, so I was able to borrow it for Fire Emblem.
During the beginning of the last console cycle I was a teenager though. This time I already have a Wii U, and I intend to pick up a PS4 in the next few months. Then an Xbox will probably be within the next two years.
PS3 - Dec 2007
360 - Aug 2008 (sister got it so I played on it and then bought my own with Halo: Reach). When I heard I went and bought ME that day. I played it for like 8 hours straight.
Wii - Didn't get it : Couldn't justify it with the lack of games that would I would really like and I always thought Wii HD was just around the corner.

PS3 in 2008, specifically for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. I first visited this site when looking at reviews for the game and this site was confirmation that it would be worth it. It totally was.

This year. The PS3's price kept me away for awhile until my local gamestop had a games sale so I figured I'd grab a bundle and pick up some cheap used games.
A roommate of mine left and gave me his Wii, otherwise I still might not have one. Another gamestop used game sale, thanks to the WiiU, I was able to grab 6 games.
Hoping to expedite the process this time and never be left out in the cold when it comes to exclusives.
I got a 360 and a Wii on their respective launch days. I got a PS3 just a couple years ago(can't remember exactly when).
Edit: Thought about checking my rental history on Gamefly to see the first PS3 game I rented from them. Seems like I got the PS3 in late January of 2011.
I got a red Mario 25th anniversary Wii in December 2010, and got a used xbox 360 the following december with a copy of LA Noire that I managed to play through half of it before the xbox red ringed again. Lasted 2 more weeks with the towel method. I bought a new xbox 360 e 2 months ago with a copy of gta 5 and I skipped the ps3 to have leftover cash for a ps4.
PS3 2009 when slim came out for uncharted 2
Wii 2010 for Epic Mickey
360 2011 blockbuster closing sale, it was dirt cheap
360 in January of '06 (after the first major restock). Wii at launch (camped out at Target). PS3 in April of 2010. So 3-and-a-half years after it was possible. If tomorrow is the first day possible for this next generation, I don't think it will take as long this time around. I have a PS4, really want a Wii U, and moderately want an Xbox One. I just like this stuff too damn much.

Oh Jesus... I'm so sorry :(
I bought a PS3 in late 08 or early 09. My brother gave me his launch 360 when he purchased one of the newer editions. Somehow it still works to this day. I still plan on getting a Wii one day. Maybe next year? For comparison I bought an original Xbox in 2003 or so and a PS2 in 2008. I am a pretty patient person and I realized a couple years ago that it was pointless to buy a game on a console if there was a PC version. Eventually I'd be able to get it for 90% off or something. I haven't purchased a 360 game since maybe Gears of War 3. And I ended up getting Sly 4 with my Gamefly rewards just so I wouldn't waste them. That was the first console game I have purchased since Journey last year. I haven't purchased a new disc based console game since that year with Uncharted 3 and Gears 3. So I decided this time around to just wait until there are enough exclusive games I just can't miss before buying a console. If I really want to play a multi-platform game I can play it on low settings on my PC.
I got my PS3 on launch day and my 360 about a year after. I still have the original models of both somehow and they still work. Never bought a Wii, though.

????
MK vs DC was fantastic!
I actually might buy a Wii in the next few weeks, just to catch up on some of the backlog I'd missed there. Galaxy, and the Metroid Prime stuff.

Dude, for that just get a Wii U. Full Wii compatibility and you get in on the sweet new Wii U games coming out.
I got the 360 in early 2006 IIRC, got the Wii in February 2007 and the PS3 the following month.
By contrast, I got the Wii in April of this year, got PS4 on launch and will likely not be getting an Xbone until the S remodel, if ever.
Dammit Nintendo :/
