Honestly? No less than six months in my mind. I'd love to be proven wrong.
How long do you really think it will take to 15,000 subs?
Bombcast Roadshows (when they can go) for those confused about the subject. But I believe it will take maybe a month or more.
I will say anywhere from 5 to 9 months...hopefully they come around Sacramento, California so that I can attend their show if they do come.
There is no way they are going to come to New Brunswick, so I'm just blocking this whole thing out of my mind. The closest would be Quebec, and I don't feel like driving for 10+ hours just to maybe see them.
Same here. Boring ass Elk Grove is boring. The whole valley needs interesting shit that's not the Kings." I will say anywhere from 5 to 9 months...hopefully they come around Sacramento, California so that I can attend their show if they do come. "
I'm sure if PayPal were an available option the subscriptions would skyrocket. For now, I'll say about six months to one year.
Wouldn't it be awesome if it hit so that the bombcast was live around the time when PAX Prime is happening. That joint would be off the hook! *Yeah I just used old ass slang! What of it?!*
" There is no way they are going to come to New Brunswick, so I'm just blocking this whole thing out of my mind. The closest would be Quebec, and I don't feel like driving for 10+ hours just to maybe see them. "Yeah, I'm thinking the same about Nova Scotia.
I think over a year. If they are on just under 9k subs at the moment, and lets assume that all the "power users" and frequent flyers have already signed up, it's going to take them a long time to build up 6k new users based on the sites that already exist. The deal-breaker will either be so mind-blowing new feature/content for subscribers or a new site. A whiskey media subscription only makes sense as a long term investment, so getting more subs is about hooking new users.
It will be interesting to see what happens this September when all those initial 1 year subscribers have to renew. But I agree, 6,000 new users is a lot, especially when you consider it was hard to hit that initial 5,000 mark to make the bombcast free.
I don't think they'll hit 15k anytime soon, unless they come up with some pretty big reasons to draw in some new users. Maybe Screened will take off in popularity, I dunno.
What if it never happens? That would be sad. If we don't have it by the time initial 1 year subs start running out, then it could take quite some time.
I'll get off my ass and buy a subscription now.
Well, personally and not to toot my own horn, I'm a bit of an idea man. I come up with ideas. I'm like a dying rapper, he who's breath could come at seconds last, be not spit the rhymes of yesterdays past. Word, son. So maybe the community could throw together a bunch of ideas, and if any awesome ones come up, the team will implement them? Not officially of course, then everyone will jump on the best one, and not the best one for the site. Just like, the staff keep a watch-out for potentially awesome ideas and then stealthily roll it out in the next site update or whenever they get added.
Or, I don't know, maybe stuff like subscribers could get entered into a raffle and those few who win will get a chance to choose a member of the staff and get an all-access live-chat with them for a while?
You know what, now that I think about it, I'm pretty bad with coming up with ideas. It was coming together in my head when I started this post, but then it all fell apart. I'm glad I'm not put in charge of anything important. Jessu.
