This topic most likely already exists, but I thought I'd rehash it again anyway. For me it's Bioshock. I've played through it five times and just started my sixth.
Without a doubt Half Life 2 and its episodes I have played Half Life 2 just a Stupid amount of times on the computer mainly but the Orange Box as well and many mods for the singleplayer on the computer I have done that campaign at least 15+ times.
@ProlificShadow: Oh yea I can't get enough of it believe me man when they said L4D2 was coming out at E3 and no Episode 3 news I about busted a blood vessel. Valve still kicks ass though.
Metal Gear Solid 2 - once when i got it (in one sitting too since i didnt have a memory card), again thereafter because it was so good, then again for a hard run, then again since I started getting bored of GT3, then again for the lulz, then when I got the strategy guide I did an extreme run, then a dog tag run for the special items, and since 2003 i've played it at least once every year, a couple of years even twice. And i'm guessing because of this thread, i'll probably play it again.. so, i'm guessing about 16-17 times. Never gets old either, even when you have the lines memorised.
I usually like to dry up games of all their worth and for me, fortunatly, that could take multiple play throughs, the games i've completed the most often would beee...Tales of Symphonia, RE2, GTA vice city annd MGS2.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory ~ 15 times Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath ~ 8 times BioShock ~ 6 times Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time ~ 5 times each
I'm sure there are much more. I like to get more than my money's worth out of my purchases.
Too Human, at least 4 times...you have to run through it multiple times to get everything. :-( Fallout 3 - ran through twice, once good & once evil. MUA 1 - twice.
I don't think I've ever played something 10+ times. No time for that.
That's pretty dang impressive Atlas, i've played alot of oblivion but no where near that much. Did you play on PC with mods or the 360 version? As far as my games go I've played: Resident Evil 2- Easily over 20 times, probably over 30. Mass Effect- 6-7 times...damn achievements Metal Gear Solid (PSX)- probably around 10-15 times. plenty of others
In the last decade, no more than three. Before that when I was a kid, 6 or more on some games. Old 2600 games weren't that long so I replayed them over and over.
I've never played games more than once, unless it's like a looting/grinding rpg.(Diablo/Titan's Quest/Sacred/etc) I think it's because I have too many unfinished games to spend time on the same games.
I played through Mother 3 three times, and I think I'll probably replay the fanslation every year hence. Its the only game I replayed that wasn't a Nintendo sidescroller or an arcade port that's under a half hour long. I don't get replaying, like, at all. Especially RPGs.
idk, i would say i play more older games more then this generation games. i kind of get bored of playing the same game over again. i'm trying to beat a lot of the games.
Game I've played through the most would probably be Diablo 2, seeing as I played so much online and made basically every class multiple times with different specs and whatnot. Then of course you had to play through the entire game multiple times on like three different difficulties for every character. I could play that game in my sleep.
Didn't really beat much games as a kid during the 8/16-bit era. I was pretty shitty at them and we had so god damn many games for our Amiga I just played something else if I got stuck or the game was kicking my ass. I remember going to friends houses with their Nintendos which they had like three games for and watching them play Super Mario for the billionth time and just being bored out of my skull. "This again?! I'll just go home to my hundreds of games", but in retrospect, they probably had a better time with theirs.
These days I never get into a game that much that I'll play through it multiple times or even take time to fuck around in sandbox games. I just want to finish it and move on, but I haven't really been all that impressed by this generation (yet) as far as gameplay goes.
Oh, God...Final Fantasy IV like seven times, Elder Scrolls IV at least twice that much, Diablo and Diablo 2 at least twice for every class, Metal Gear Solid 4 six times...I replay games a ton...
