So as some of you know for Christmas I'm getting some getting some stuff to build my pc (Which will be my first try at doing this) I've got a idea of what I am getting for most of the stuff , but the only one I'm getting stuck on Is a graphic cards I think my budget is between 50 to 120 pounds(£) so I am wondering what's the best I can get for that kind of money. I think the radeon 6670 1gb ddr5 look like a good graphic card for 50 pound. I'm looking for a graphic card that can play most Stratgey games on medium and also can play most modern fps on medium so what would you recommend.

I have a Radeon HD 7770; it was $135 US dollars and runs most things on high at a consistent 60. I do have to turn Metro 2033 down to Medium and 1280x720 to maintain a consistent 60, but then Metro 2033 is infamous for being a system hog. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively cheap graphics card that can suitably be used for gaming.

I'm not sure how much that is in pounds, though I'd imagine it wouldn't be a ton.

On a final note, I seriously doubt the 6670 would be a good investment if you're planning on playing games well unless you really turn down settings.

Here are some recommendation in your price range:

  • NVIDIA 650ti about 90£ and up
  • AMD 7770 about 93£ and up
  • AMD 6870 if you can find it for cheap maybe second hand

i checked scan uk and thoose cards are in your price range.if you save or have more money get either a 660ti or AMD 7870 gpu.

The 7770 is pretty great. It's handled everything I've thrown at it admirably. I think the only game I have that dips below 60 frames on the highest settings is Skyrim (40 frames, average...I think I might have too many graphics mods installed, but damn if it don't look nice).

I bought a 7850 earlier this year. I'd say that around $200 is the sweet spot for a video card. Any more than that is a.) where the laws of diminishing returns start to kick in, and b.) unreasonable (unless you are rich). That said, I rather enjoy my HD 7850.
