*cough*GameStop is not the only place that does it*cough*

I'm sorry. I was trying to say that GameStop is not the only place that does it but as usual people blame GameStop for everything.

"Nice, i've heard of this but have never been bothered. Stickers usually come off easy for me. If there is any residue left i use a rubber/eraser over the area, and it tends to get the glue off once you've wiped off the case. "

um so complicated.
If the stickers are new and well in the end even if they aren't new gamestop stickers aren't hard to get off they usually peel off without much residue left behind, you just use the sticker it self to remove that.

I use a brand of lamp oil we have here in my country. I just peal the stickers off if they leave the sticky residue i put a little lamp oil on a paper cloth and it just rubs off. Doesn't damage the plastic on the cover. Also its really good at cleaning thermal paste off CPU's and GPU's. Yeah i'm not fucking kidding here.
I buy my games at play n trade and they put a sticker that is still attached to the wax paper under the plastic. They also replace the box and, if need be, the box art. It is pretty awesome
What I usually do is just throw away the box and use a new one. Usually you get a box when you preorder something anyway, so there ya go. But there has to be some kind of reason behind the use of these fucking awful stickers. Like a way for Gamestop to cause shame. The shame and self hatred some people feel after having sex with an ugly person. They almost feel like they were raped. And gamestop makes a lot of people feel that way. I dont get why they do it. I am running through scenarios, of people peeling them off in the store, or people peeling them off and transfering them to another game? I don't get it.
The Gamestops here only have the sticker on used games. The displays for new games have stickers on them, but once you bring it to the counter, they grab a copy from behind their desks that only has the plastic wrap over it.

" Yeah pretty much every shop in the UK does it. After a while you develop technique. "I've only encountered "difficult" stickers when i have bought games from GAME. Gamestation and HMV use those easy peel-off ones as far as I know.
" @Ineedaname said:Agreed, as long as you just peel it slow it normally takes up most of the glue, it used to be worse, in the PS2 era or so it always seemed they were proper stickers, and would leave paper behind. Now if only gamestation would lower their prices =O, HMV's cheaper these days oddly." Yeah pretty much every shop in the UK does it. After a while you develop technique. The best way to remove gamestop/EB Games from your life altogether is...breathe deeply... never shop there again.
Its been years since I whent into an EB and found anything that wasnt cheaper at another store.
I saw COD4:MW in an EB in melbourne the other day for $110.00
WTF?
" @RhombusOfTerror said:They're owned by GAME now that's why, at least it hasn't dampened their relaxed atmosphere. Prioir to that, their Derby branch had one heck of a Retro Section, which occupied an entire floor. Good times there." @Ineedaname said:Agreed, as long as you just peel it slow it normally takes up most of the glue, it used to be worse, in the PS2 era or so it always seemed they were proper stickers, and would leave paper behind. GooGone has adhesive remover I use. I just slowly peel the label and use this to remove the residue. However I don't buy used games at stores only happens for gutted games or used games on eBay/Half.com
