How to shake off the early 2011 gaming slump?

Release slump? Didn't both Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm come out today?

I'm playing starcraft 2 again, I haven't bought a game this year.  There haven't been any I'm even interested in, let alone pay $60 for.

The demo for Shogun 2 came out today on Steam, and the full game is in a few weeks

What slump....LBP 2, Dead Space 2, Killzone 3, and Bulletstorm

I don't really see the slump, Dead Space 2, Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Little Big Planet, Bulletstorm, and Killzone 3 in these 2 months alone.

I find it difficult to understand why people have to play the latest games, rush through them all and then sit there crying saying there are no games to play. There are so many great games to play even from the past few years which will give you hundreds of hours of gaming time. Even better they're dirt cheap now so go buy. 
 
OP just look at GOTY top ten lists from the past couple of years.

LittleBigPlanet 2 and Killzone 3 mean that my Xbox is starting to look dusty.

I did, however, pick up some older games recently.  I just bought 3D Dot Game Heroes and Mini Ninjas for cheap ($20 and $15, respectively) on Amazon.  I bought Mini Ninjas primarily for the awesome trailers they were putting out for it when it first released.  They looked something like this:

No slump at all right now. We've had Ghost Trick, Killzone 3, Stacking, Little Big Planet 2, Dead Space 2. Just got Bulletstorm. Torchlight coming to XBLA soon. Ico/Shadow remix late March. Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat April 19. Duke Nukem early May.

I usually get out of my slump by playing all of the 6-10 hour action games of the previous year. But my slump won't hit until I finish Dragon Age 2 in May. Vanquish, here I come!

Wait there is a slump? Hmmm not that I've noticed, if anything there are too many good games coming out.

Dead Space 2, Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, Stacking, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Ghost Trick. 
But I guess if you don't like those genre of games and the games mentione themselves then sure, I would believe that someone would call this a slump.  
  
Guess those people just have to wait for the remake of Solitaire or Minesweeper a little longer

If you think this is a slump then you have very high demands. If nothing interests you maybe you should hit the gym. 

Yeah Jan / Feb were pretty lame for me too in terms of new games.  So I played most of the way through Baldur's Gate again (one day I will finish it), then watched a bunch of The World at War (the greatest tv series ever made), Generation Kill (not the greatest tv series ever made) and Band of Brothers (nearly 10 years old already wtf, but aging incredibly well).

New champions just came out in League of Legends(Karma and Moakai) And a new one is on the way in the next week or two(King Jarvin IV)

So far this year I've purchased LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2, Stacking, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, RIFT, and next month has Homefront, Dragon Age 2, Crysis 2, etc..
