OMFG!!! I found out now they have Slipknot on RockBand!!!!!!! So I'm now getting this and this has happened alot when I see DLC in RockBand, so some memories you have had.
I almost cried over a game. Have you?
When I had to kill all those civilians in Modern Warfare 2. Reminded me too much of 9/11. Never forget.
I see... well not really. BUT once when I was around 12 or something I started crying tears of joy after the power came back on after a few hours of outage. FINALLY I CAN PLAY UNREAL AGAIN!!! OH GOD! .. good times...
When i was 7 and i kept getting my ass kicked by the computer in Street Fighter 2 for the SNES. I threw a huge tantrum and bawled my eyes out. Got my dad to beat the shit through Vega for me.
Of...joy or sorrow?
And...hmm cried over a video game...lemme think, I would have to say Half life 2 EP2 (end of game spoiler) when Eli got his brains sucked out and Alex just completely broke down and hugged her dad than the screen faded to black and all you heard was her sobbing, that was pretty rough.
Oh yea and when Valve annoced L4D2 at E3 and didn't even mention EP3 I was pretty unhappy. . . still not super happy.
I have this trinity of games that almost made me cry:
- Metal Gear Solid 3 (that ending is intense; probably strongest depiction of betrayal and disappointment I've ever witnessed)
- Silent Hill 2 (letter and "in water" ending)
- Shadow of the Colossus (bitter-sweet is the right term here)
When my team conquered the Red Square in Ghost Recon with no casualties on elite. So many hours wasted in trying to hone my team's skills to perfection, so many hours used in trying to complete Paper Angel and Willow Bow without dead operatives. I felt rather hollow when the credits rolled up.
:')
I've cried many times over a game... of laughter.
- 4 player WarioWare
- Funny glitches in Skate
- That one time I was playing Tekken 5: DR with a friend. You know that move when your opponent is on the ground and you just run over him stomping him in the process? Well, on this occasion at the exact moment I ran over him my friend farted. We cried for like 5 minutes.
I should probably mention that I was high most of those times.
Yeah... during MGS4 there were a few bits that kinda choked me up a bit. But i am a huge MGS fan so..there ya go.
I kinda hope I do one day. It'd be cool to have a game effect me that strongly. I think the timing of the right game at the right moment would have to be just ... right. Hmm. Seeing how much L4D I've played with the lady, I could see me bawling over those sweet, sweet Death Toll finales if we ever split *sniffle* She used to work her little heiny off guarding my back at that turret *sobs uncontrollably*.
But, no. So far, no tears while playing.
Have I ever shed tears over a game? No.
However some games have had an emotion impact. Metal Gear Solid 3 as others have mentioned and even the end of Episode 2 to some degree.
" Never cried, no. Felt emotional, yes. "Same here, I've felt different (sad, excited) because of a game, but none have brought me to tears quite yet.

" I cried when my second PS3 got the YLOD. A game never. "Please don't don't call it that it sounds pathetic.
I thought the end of FF10 was pretty emotional, i never cried though, why? because i realised i have a set of Balls

A game will come and bring us to tears, and when that game comes.
I'll buy ice cream for everyone so we can all cry and eat ice cream, like a big family
" @eclipsesis said:No one, just that i don't, that often, and especially at a entertainment medium which struggles to put across the subtly of human emotion. In time it will get better and have the emotional impact of of cinema just not yet. So i find it hard to cry for something that seems not quiet worthy of my complete emotional breakdown."I thought the end of FF10 was pretty emotional, i never cried though, why? because i realised i have a set of BallsWho says men can't cry? ""The death of Eli in Half Life 2: Episode 2 was very emotional for me.
This. I didn't cry but it was handled well.
The ending of Crisis Core was the only thing that came remotely close. And this is coming from someone who's never played FF7.
(Spolier-free.) When somebody on Lost Odyssey related to Kaim dies, I had a small cry. And I felt truly scared while reading one of the dream's in the same game. I'll only say that it involves being trapped for a millenia, unable to move AT ALL.
The only other source of entertainment that's managed to make me cry was the bit at the end of the Will Smith movie called Seven Pounds. The sacrifice his character makes at the end is truly wonderful. I had to take a moment to myself to blubber.
I recommend everybody watches this movie. :-)
Oh! I've also cried with laughter whilst playing Fallout 3 when about 6 monsters came flying out of the sky and bounced back upward's and dissapeared.
It was one of those moment's that was really tense as I had very little health and was having to crawl to safety without attracting a local Rad Scorpion's attention.
When all of a sudden, they flew out of the sky and bounced all the way upward's again. and literally in the space of 5 seconds everything was silent again like nothing had happened lol.
I cryed with laughter. unpaused and continued crawling on.
" I've cried many times over a game... of laughter.Same here. Me and my friends in highschool used to play halo every lunch hour, split screen 4 people multiplayer. They'd always kick my ass terribly but this one I got them back. I holed up in a room with only one entrance. Once they noticed I hadn't died in a bit they all started rushing at me. They poured into the room as I threw grenade upon grenade at the door killing anyone who entered. They kept on spawning outside and trying again, it was a small map. Grenades kept on spawning in the room I was in so, after about 30 solid seconds of this I was in stitches. Probably the hardest I've laughed at anything in a long time.
