Vinny and Drew are really experts at their craft.

Much like bad acting, I'm not really one to even see shoddy editing. After I fired up Windows Media Center for the second time since Windows 7 launched and tried out their Internet TV thing, I ran across this little ditty:

Maybe I'm just ignorant so forgive me if it's not that bad but I gotta say GiantBomb really spoiled me with what I expect of internet content and its delivery.

One minute in I turned that shit off.

Yeah, it's all pretty grating after being acustomed to GB. However, other vidja game sites also have some pretty good videos, so it's not only Giant Bomb.

Why the hell every 5 seconds it cuts to a completely fucking random moment of explosions?!

I agree, Giant Bomb really spoils you with most of the content. Good editing didn't use to be this important, but they have really raised the bar, which is good, though painful when you leave the secure confines of here.

I find myself becoming more and more bitter about other podcasts as well, though on that front there are at least enough people who can deliver for it to not be too painful...

That guy's radio voice needs to tone itself down a bit.

Vinny does a great job of blending stock techno beats with live audio, game sfx and commentary.  It seems effortless but it requires timing and an understanding of the mood you are trying to create.  This guy also made the mistake of using the dreaded "journalist voice" which is essentially a bizarre and arbitrary cadence that reporters and correspondents have insisted on using since the 70s.  It barely works if you have an English accent and work for the BBC - and it sounds downright assclownish in this setting.  Kevin Van Ord from gamespot veers dangerously close to this territory sometimes.  I'm surprised he didn't close with "One thing is for sure, this is ONE Halo you WON'T have to wait till the AFTERlife to get - Back to you." 
  
 
In short, yeah.  GB uses slick editing and good personality to make video content seem unforced and informative.  

They are the best at what they do. :)

That seemed perfectly reasonable to me. Yes, GB is way nicer, but I still use GameTrailers occasionally too.

Being kiss-assy of Vinny and Drew is always welcome.

but hes the number one most subscribed person on youtube.  im assuming he gets paid around $500 000 a year considering he releases videos often and gets a lot of traffic on his channel.  i dislike his videos and i dont get why kids watch that shit.  hes basically stealing other peoples videos

I've realized that as a Whiskey Media subscriber, I now frown upon most other sources of similar information.

It sounds like he slurs or mumbles many of the words, and is trying really hard to sound like Adam Sessler.

Vinny's use of free, pre-keyed, stock explosion and fire effects is masterful.

That was pretty awful. Giantbomb is my main source of gaming news and video content however Gametrailers have good media content too. Just avoid the awful community.
