You know what might be cool? Transition from Game Room to the Wii's Virtual Console. Start taking things on from the NES and Sega Master System and move forward into that era. Because really, Game Room is getting pretty fucking sad. Correction: Game Room has been sad for like a month or so now.
I really enjoy watching you guys take a walk down memory lane with these games, but I think it's time to revisit the NES era.
I enjoyed Game Room. But now it's time to move forward.
If they just opened the doors to 16-bit, it would be incredible.
Just imagine the Sega arcade classics like OutRun with the Game Room leaderboards. It would be incredible. EDIT: And Golden Axe 2: The Revenge of Death Adder which has never had a home port.
I really supported Game Room when it came out, but its just a disorganised mess now. Shame.
Haven't we gotten like 1 Virtual Console game a month for the last few months? That doesn't seem to be doing any better than Game Room.
" @General_D23: Yeah but there's a shit ton of already released games that are worth covering. "Yeah, but if Nintendo's got a bunch of that on lock and is still not able to keep it flowing, how is Microsoft going to do it?
I mean, it's a nice dream, but I don't think it's happening, unfortunately.
Game Room is a dud and even the GB Crew know and probably have known it since it started out. MS have Bern too cheap to license any decent arcade or console games and there ate vast libraries to pull from too. It's really sad that do much potential has been wasted.
It could have and should have been great. :/
I think there would be some legal problems if MS started selling NES emulated games.
if they wanted NES games on gameroom they would have to be ported over instead of running in emulation like everything else on gameroom which would require alot more work.
Im sure they could get sega to allow master system games....
What? That's not what I'm saying at all. I don't mean that Microsoft should start buying up Nintendo games. I'm talking about the Giant Bomb crew shifting to the Wii's Virtual Console and reviewing retro releases on that console instead. At least then we'd still have some retro nostalgia to look forward to, since Game Room is now pointless.
Pretty much that, only add the fact that Sega loves those compilation things. Then again, so did Activision at one point...
Game room died the minute they started putting board games and old intellevision sports games on it.
I'M sorry man, I can't read your posts. Everytime I try, all I see is this :" I wish Game Room was disc based so GB could make a video of Jeff smashing it up on the pavement or something. Or they could recreate Alex Navarro's review of that Big Rigs game. Anyway bring back QL throwbacks. "
Moreland: I'm just a humble motherfucker with a big-ass dick.
Freamon: You give yourself too much credit.
Moreland: Okay then. I ain't that humble.
