The reason I ask is because I have a strong urge to play some of my favorite old Game Boy games again, Tekken Advance, Dragon Warrior Monsters, Pokemon Crystal, Urbz: Sims, etc. But I sold them all a long time ago (I have no idea why) so I was thinking of buying a GBA SP and aforementioned games. Is a GBA SP still worth it or should I stick with my old, phat, backlight-less dinosaur?

If you own an original GBA, and it still works, there's no point in getting an SP.

@Emandudeguyperson: If you can get your hands on a Gameboy Player for Gamecube, you should go that route.  I played the fuck out of my Gameboy Player when I first got it.  It was awesome to play Pokemon on the big TV.

Geh, I did once, it doesn't feel right playing GBA games on a TV.

Emulation or backward compatibility rarely keep up with original so I say go for it.

Just to point out the distinction between homebrew (making applications at home, generally for closed systems like a DS/Xbox etc.) and emulating games. One is illegal and the other isnt :)
