I miss QOTW

About a year ago a friend and I submitted our first submission to QOTW. It was the Halloween episode where Ryan asked everyone to destroy candy corn.

It was really fun, and we decided to try and submit something for QOTW as often as we could.

Of course, a few weeks later it was cancelled after what seemed to me like a pretty even vote to be honest.

Giant Bomb said there might be something coming to replace QOTW, and I'm still waiting.

I don't really miss it, but it's too bad the frequent submitters don't get QOTW anymore. It would be nice to see GB set up a new community video feature, but with the recent increase in Quick Looks, subscriber videos and general office shenanigans, I don't know how they could find the time, at least for now.

To be really honest, most of the QOTW-vids were less than good. It just felt really awkward.

I'd call them bad, actually!

It would be nice to see GB set up a new community video feature, but with the recent increase in Quick Looks, subscriber videos and general office shenanigans, I don't know how they could find the time, at least for now.

There was that, yes. Gems aside, it was pretty gnarly most weeks.

You could not be more right but I do still kind of miss them.

Oh man, I don't miss that one bit.

You're only missing them because you were making them.

They were flat out horrible. Only some of them were alright, but most of them were unfunny, awkward and really, really horrible.

i mean. They were really, REALLY bad.

The overall quality was definitely questionable at times but it would be cool to have some sorta community video content thing. Especially for a website so heavily focused on video. Maybe instead of giving people a week, a month would be better. More time might make for better stuff. Maybe.

Most of the QOTW were pretty horrible, in my opinion since they started to advertise community stuff via the "Rad Stuff by Our Community" / Bomb Shelter, it has since replaced the need of something like QOTW.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but most of the QOTW responses were rather dull and trying way too hard to be funny. There were some good ones here and there, but most of them made for a very boring and sort of awkward at times viewing experience.

You're in the minority.

Well you see lemon hasn't got enough time to get selected every week :)

The best ones came from Lemon himself and look where he is now.

That's true. There's already tons of content to consume.

Most of the QOTW were just outright baddddd. Some of them were sort of cool, but most of them were just bad.

I'm glad they discontinued QOTW.

I quite enjoyed the Giant Bomb community folk song but I'm not necessarily upset QOTW is still gone.

The only good thing out of QOTW was the "A man chooses pickles!" submission for the Bioshock 2 week. Otherwise, I am very glad it's gone.

@Brenderous: Dude, I totally remember your entries and they always stood out as being really good in my opinion. Kind of sucks that the featured died, but it definitely did run out of steam. If you're still into making video's like that maybe start a weekly or monthly thing in the community where you ask for suggestions to make video's around? Could be fun?
