Okay, so I'm not going to have gold until this Christmas, but I do have some spare cash lying around.

For the Xbox 360, is there a good single player FPS on the cheaps? I'm thinking about buying the orange box but I'm not sure I'll like it. Should I just get the Orange Box, or is there any others that are better? Thanks.

There is no better deal than the Orange Box. Unless of course, you've already played all the Half Life games...

I've never played Half-life but I think I will buy it after some research.

Also, I would pay 20$ just for Portal. So I hear.

Orange Box is a great idea. Its got all you'd want in an FPS. But it's a bunch of FPS's! All the half life games are an astounding mix of both action and puzzles, Portal is just plain kooky and puzzling, and TF2 is well, TF2.

I like when there are enemies to shoot and guns to shoot them with.

Then you don't want the Orange Box, because it's a lot of hitting things with a crowbar while people talk at you and frown. There are also boxes, but none of them are orange.

Oh and there is a robot that likes giving you hugs.

Avoid this amazing game at all costs.

BioShock, Orange Box, and many, many others out there. FEAR 2, if you don't look at it too hard.

I'd have to agree that the Orange Box is the right choice.  Tons of content for a great price.
Also, The Darkness is amazing as well.  You know what? Buy them both...

The Orange Box is a must-have. If you don't have it, you should solve that problem right away. :D

I won't argue with The Orange Box, but if you have enough left over get Quake 4. It got vastly overlooked, though it's pretty solid.

I bought Orange Box for £25 (about $40 I think) and would be willing to pay double that as 5 games which are all some of the best games ever made. Half Life 2 simply has to be played and Portal is genius and when you do get live TF2 is as replayable as any online shooter. I say go for Orange Box.

Bioshock!  Can't recommend it enough, it's a great game.  Intriguing environment, some pretty cool abilities and a great story make it a hella good game.

I just finished Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and it was pretty fun.  You might like  it too.

Orange Box. Don't know about other cities, but it's $20 here in Southern California.

Seriously just go and get The Orange Box already. If I was a dictator it would be a civil requirement that everybody play this game, and i'd be praised for it. It's that good.

You can also try out CoD2 and 4, Unreal Tournament 3, F.E.A.R, F.E.A.R 2, Condemned, Prey, Quake 4, Rainbow Six Vegas. Avoid Mirrors Edge if all you want is to shoot stuff.

Orange Box. Bad Company and Rainbow Six Vegas are also good if you have extra money left.

I think Black is pretty good.  It's an original Xbox game but the shooting is fun and there are big explosions.  It is kind of short though.

Definitely The Darkness. Also, Call of Duty 4's single player campaign is freaking absolutely amazing. It's not all that long, but definitely great enough to replay a few times. Bioshock is a must-play too. If you're open to an FPS RPG, you can't go wrong with Fallout 3. I think it's a truly remarkable game, but it might not be quite what you're looking for.

I would say Fallout 3, just for shear scope and length of the game, and Orange Box for some variety.
